The most disappointing team in the west
As impressive as the WC is this season, there is no lack of disappointment either. Which team is the most disappointing of all?

I voted Denver. They have two of the most deadly scorers in the NBA and still were butchered by the Lakers. Suns and Mavs are right behind DEN, but at least the trades made sense.
Houston had bad luck with Yao, but won 22 en bloc. GSW can keep their heads held high, 48 wins is a lot. Portland should not be included, they overachieved.

However they forget one thing, they suck.
I really don't understand this. Everyone singles out Denver for their talent, but the whole Western Conference is talented. Personally, I think Phoenix and the Lakers are more talented, and the Spurs, Hornets, Jazz, Rockets (when fully healthy), and Mavericks are just as talented.

Denver has more big names but not necessarily more talent, as two of those big names are probably overrated in themselves.

I disagree
Portland Improved over last year without Oden
Al Jefferson was played really well in Minny, and with a healthy Foye they showed they could beat legit teams
The Warriors, even though they didn't make the playoffs, get a lottery pick and Ellis really emerged as a second tier sg.
Obviously none of those compare to being in the final 4 of the West, but then again none of them were really picked to be there in the first place.
Thank you for all the memories BRoy. You were a class act and brought hope to an entire region for 5 years. You will be missed.

Phoenix has to be disappointed with their gamble. They went through a lot of cost cutting and got an overpayed player who was supposed to help them beat they Spurs. Then they lost to the Spurs, with Shaq as one of their biggest downfalls.
Denver playoff performance was pretty disappointing. The Lakers were clearly superior, but the Nuggets were playing some of the most insultingly halfassed basketball in recent memory. I kind of wish the Warriors had made as the 8th seed, since they'd at least put up a fight.

Yep, Phoenix not only lost the gamble, but also tied themselves up for the next 2 years. With Nash passing his prime (appears so anyway in the first round loss), their window is closed. So they got to be the most disappointing team in the west.
Dallas should come second. They followed two monumental post season collapses in a row with another first round exit.
Denver is third on my list because of their talent level. Two top scorers plus a reigning defensive player of the year barely made the playoffs and got buried by the Lakers in the first round. GK is one overated coach.
