Perk set the tone along with KG right from the 1st Quarter.

Doc got his troops to play this game with urgency....defensive urgency.

The Hawks look like a high school team...a bad one.....

I'll say it right now.

I'm handing Perk the Victory Cigar right now.

Not only did his play set the tone in the 1st quarter, but his defense throughout the entire game scared the Hawks from driving into the lanes.

Perk was absolutely phenomenal on defense! This was the best help defense he has played in his career!

you know why i give doc redit? because for the first time all series, he played rondo until the game was finally decided. he didnt go to cassell because that what his normal rotation may be, he actually.....coached? he stuck with the momentum and never for it to swing...

+1. Everyone on this team and staff, to a man, deserves some kudos.

Gotta love Perk for not backing down!

I loved when Doc was quoted as telling the guys in the third quarter "Don't...let...up"

Go for blood, embarrass them on national TV...YESSSS! :rocking:
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

Perk was great in the game. Especially in the 1st quarter. But a great as Perk played in that 1st quarter, Doc still sat Perk out in the 2nd quarter as usual. Perkins didn't return until about 3 minutes left in the 2nd.

Perkins could have a 10 point, 10 rebound 1st quarter and Doc will still sit him out for nearly the entire 2nd quarter. I don't get that. I'm glad we kept the led with Perkins out for so long. Doc also waited too long in getting KG back in the 2nd quarter as well. But I'm glad it worked out.

I have to agree that Doc did a very good job in getting the players ready for the game though. Also props for Doc for finally getting out of the 1st round.

Maybe now everyone (especially the media) can calm down, shut up, and we can get to some real basketball!

Perk and Powe both deserve substantial guaranteed playing time. Neither is way better than the other. On his best day, Perk does everything Powe does on his best day and adds shotblocking as well, so Perk deserves to be the starter. But they both deserve to play.

Perk will never be the scorer Powe is but since he is the better defender and has better size he deserves to start. Leon is a great offensive spark to keep us from stalling on offense when the big three are not all out there.
