Sorry I have no idea about the Atlanta stadium or their interviews.

This was a one-time promotional thing. We've had walk off interviews, but I never recall giving the player the mic to talk free form.

I don't think she gave him the mic. She held it up for him to talk into, but he just kinda took it.

I have a question, who is this Salomon kid? He is fricking huge and can move. Why doesn't he play more? Too you ng maybe or lazy?

King Solomon is very raw and he has butterfingers. He is very athletic and very good shotblocker. He hasn't earn respect from the Refs as a shotblocker yet. They usually end up calling fouls on him when he does block a shot. He has a nice offensive game. I haven't heard any complaints about his work ethic. He still might be a year away.

Woody doesn't have substitution patterns that make sense. He would rather play Bibby/JJ/Chill/Marvin/Smith type of lineup rather than use Jones off the bench. He didn't realzie until the playoffs that he needs that big body off the bench and that he is a decent player.

What is sad is all the potential game minutes that Solomon could have racked up during the season that would have him further along the curve were wasted. He's need more game experience to understand what the refs allow and don't allow.

I was at the game yesteday. he was by far the largest human being in the building. I mean he towered over Perkins. he looks as though he can move. That would free up horford also. If he is working hard woody should give him palying time.

Jones starting isn't a great idea. Now I wouldn't mind him coming off the bench in relief of Smith so Horford can shift to the 4, but in the starting lineup not so much.

I'm stick shocked that Solo hasn't played a minute in the D-league for us. With playing time I see no reason for him not to be a decent role player in this league because of his length, athleticism, and enthusiasm. But instead we let him rot at the end of the bench for two years rather than giving him some game experience.

What botherd me even more was that he lost minutes to Lo Wright his first season here, even after having no chance of making the playoffs. Woody was still giving the bulk of the minutes to 30+ year old vets instead of young guys that could use the experience. There was absolutely no way to justify that. Either send him to the D league....

Have we ever sent anyone to the D league? Donta Smith maybe?

...anyway, there was no reason for him not to get minutes over the last two years. Argue if he was game ready all you want, the guys ahead of him in bench minutes weren't exactly setting the world on fire.

Yeah, its things like this that make me scratch my head when people call Woody and his staff a "good developmental coaching staff". Its just not true. The assumption being that since there we are a young team that hasn't gotten any worse, Woody has developed the players.

I've gone over the list before so I won't do so again but all of our "developmental guys" have flamed out. Many of our younger role players have had big regressions, Woody hasn't been able to help Marv reach his vast potential and he hasn't done much to curb Smith's shot selection (don't tell me there is nothing he can do, he a) has Smith in a position to take those shots because of how our halfcourt O is designed and b) doesn't yank him when he takes'em).

Not that I blame Salim being a non-starter on Woody, or Solo not being able to score or something. I just think its a little odd that Salim came into the league shooting 38% from deep and the more we have needed a shooter, the fewer minutes he's played and the lower his %s have gone.

Same sort of story with Solo, Rio, and JRich. They show the ability to be useful in an area of need and then disappear.

A bigger part of our depth problem is the quality of players on our bench but there is no way we shouldn't have any guys that come out of nowhere to contribute like Udoka or Powe.

^^^ You can see Mario West going down that road too. Woody did not utilize him at all this season. I hope the next HC gives him a chance to show what he can do.

Its obscene that Mario West wasn't used more. His energy EVERYTIME he was out there was starters was apparent, yet when there were ample opportunities to use him, it never happened.

If you come out flat, Mario West was the type of player that would change the entire way the game flows. Energetic play is infectious, and everyone can see that. Once again...just bad coaching there.

The best thing about it is Mario produced EVERY TIME he was given minutes. This includes scoring points on the offensive end and getting rebounds. That was by far the dumbest thing Woody did all year, I really hope we retain Rio and give him a fair chance to get into the rotation next year.

I think he is the type of guy that if he gets a invite to a camp, he will probably make the team 9-10 times. Probably as a one year contract guy, but he will be on the end of your bench, or with a good coach getting playing time.

I find it hard to believe that the same guy that found a way to get Royal Ivy minutes night in and night out for 3 years couldn't find minutes for Rio.
