Draft Rose, trade Conley for Kevin Love.
Imagine K-Love throwing outlets to Rose/Miller/Gay running the fast break. THAT would be a fun team to watch.
Interestingly, Kevin Love is expected to be picked 8-12 where there are some PG hungry teams (i.e. Sac, Indy)
You guys could play small with Love at the 5 and Warrick at the 4, or big with Love at the 4 and Darko at the 5.
Rose/Lowry
Miller/Crittendon
Gay/#28
Love/Warrick
Darko/Gasol
As a wolves fan I think the Grizz have a very bright future. You guys have a stockpile of assets. With Rose and Love on board I'd be envious. I'm expecting all star status and 25ppg from Gay next year.

It is absolutely histerical when people try to sell you on Kevin Love they mention how good he outlet passes. Really, it's that good that a team should spend a lottery pick on him? Don't get me wrong, I do think Kevin Love is an NBA player but I think he would be better served playing in the Eastern Conference where the style of play would suit him a lot better.
The Grizz are attempting to get more athletic so drafting a big who can not guard the murderous row of Western conf. power forwards and will have a difficult time getting his own shot off would not be wise. We also hope they say NO to Brooks Lopez, Roy Hibbert, and every other robotic BIG.

Kevin Love would be VERY hard to sell to Grizz fans. Most of us watched him get totally exposed by the University of Memphis in the tournament.
Exactly. That Tigers team - when it's all said and done - will ultimately have a handful of NBA players on it; but Love is going to see that level, and then some, of athleticism & size in the NBA on a daily basis. IMO, he's going to bust - especially if he can't get in shape.

Read jefe's assessment. Love saw a team that likely had 4 NBA players on it and looked totally lost. I'm not saying that he will be a total bust - but at the least he'll need to do what Carlos Boozer did to make himself NBA material, as far as toughening up and getting in shape. Also note, while it was only one game, for many Grizzly fans it's the only full game they ever saw him play - and it wasn't what they would want in a first round/lottery pick.

That Tigers team, when all is said and done- will ultimately choke when they get the chance in big games. I saw them do so against Kansas, a team with a handful of NBA players on it. IMO, Derrick Rose is going to bust- especially if he can't work on his conditioning and be able to carry his team in the closing moments of a big game.jefe wrote:-= original quote snipped =-

Yeah, because that Tigers team will always play together, right? And conditioning is just as hard to work on as having short arms and roughly 30 pounds of excess weight that affects mobility, right? Nice attempt to spin the logic of my post around, but the cases are too different for it to work; and in the end, it's just my opinion - it really shouldn't bother you that much.

It doesn't bother me in the slightest jefe. I couldn't care less about the Tigers or the Bruins. It was the idea that basing one's opinion of a player on one game (LeBron last night for example) isn't a very useful way of evaluating talent.
Frankly I think Love will do just fine in the NBA. He has all the same attributes that make Zach Randolph a decent player. In additon Love has a lot of other positive and unique qualities which I think will help him succeed in the NBA. I don't know if he's a top 15 caliber player though. Really though, after Rose, Beasley and Mayo it's a crap shot and a matter of opinion and needs.
I like Rose a lot by the way despite the ribbing I gave him above. If he can develop a jumper he's all-star material.
