As if there was any doubt after game 1... the Hornets are playing like the better team.

We got to make this a dogfight when we head back to SA. It is too easy for them to score in the 2nd half.

We have been on the other end of a situation like this when the Lakers lost to us at home... but then they regrouped and came back to beat us 4 in a row. We have to rearm and be ready for a tuff fight that we are surely to see. No matter what, they just held serve and we have to return the favor.

We have to prove that we want it more than them... they took control of the 2nd half and never let off the gas pedal.

This is the moment of truth...

I remember one thing that the great Jim Lampley said after an unexpected victory by an unknown fighter, and it was "Do you know me now?" Well the Hornets just told the NBA you better know me...

Max respect from me for the Hornets. They are playing like a championship team. I really enjoy watching them play. Pounding my Spurs isn't as much fun to witness, but man - this team is good.

I'm not ruling out a comeback, but it seems unlikely. Maybe we can channel the Lakers, circa 2004.

The Hornets have that underdog mentality, despite being a 2nd seed. They seem to be thriving on the lack of buzz (no pun intended) surrounding them.

How many ppl picked them to beat the Mavs? I know I didn't. I had the Mavs in 6. How wrong was I? They picked the Mavs apart and they're doing the same thing to us.

They're like a more controlled version of GS last year.

I think they can go all the way. I'll be a NO bandwagoner for the rest of playoffs if they beat us.

believe man...series is still live untill we lose one on home court or down 3 games
AJ:"I'm Western Conference," he said. "I'm Popovich. I'm for him, for Texas and for the Spurs."

The Hornets did what they had to do - protect home court.

But damn, I thought we'd steal at least one game.

Down 0-2 to start this thing is not great, but the series isn't over as long as the fight is still in the dog. The Spurs haven't been playing consistantly so far in this series. They have to get back on track since they will be at home for games 3 and 4. The Hornets are doing their part to keep the series in their favor. Their athleticism is proof of that and it's what's keeping them sharp thus far. Come Thursday, the Spurs need to man up and take the fight to the Hornets if they expect to stop the bleeding.

it's really frustrating that we're always in the game at the end of the 1st half, but they just kill us in the 3rd and 4th quarters..it was exactly the same in the regular season matchups too..

Ugh. We need to come out with intensity the next game. Oh, and maybe some semblance of offense. Just showing up in front of the home crowd is not going to get us a W, we need to take it.

Brent Barry needs to get more rotation minutes and not just garbage minutes, IMO. His outside shooting ability should help greatly with our scoring draughts. TP needs to realize that the jumper is his tertiary offensive weapon and not primary. 1) Look for the driving lanes, 2) Try to feed the ball, and when all else fails 3) put up the shot. Too many times, he settled for the shot first. Manu also needs to penetrate more, our strength is scoring in the paint. Tyson is a great weak side shot blocker, so we need to feed the ball to TD and let him draw early fouls to get Tyson out of the game so the paint area becomes a little more inviting to TP / Gino.

Finally, we NEED to be firing on all cylinders next game. TD cannot afford a bad game, TP cannot afford a bad game, Gino cannot afford a bad game. We need our big 3 AND our role players playing well. Kurt and Barry were our best (non-big 3) players, last game. We need Finley to step it up big time! AND, we cannot afford Peja so many wide open shots, nor can we afford Chris Paul so many easy penetration attempts.

CP is strong, and we know that we cannot really 'stop' him. In game 1, it was David West that gave them the edge. In game 2, it was Peja and Peterson.

In the meantime, we have not been able to get all of our big 3 going. It almost looks as though we emptied our tank against Phx in round 1.

I definitely agree Barry needs to play more, and Ginobili/Parker need to look to drive more

Finley has to get his shot going better

Things should only get better at home
