My 2nd paragraph is 100% relevant. Walker is in your trade. There are no guarantees Cohan pays yet another player to go away. You toss around the idea of yet another buyout as though those expenditures haven't come with fairly obvious attendant costs in the Cohan regime. You want to spend more of Cohan's money on people we will be asking not to come to work? be prepared for more CJ Watson's and DJ Mbenga's rounding out our roster again. I'd like to go another way in the comming season.

Walker is due to make over 18M in the next two seasons. There is no chance that he takes a 9M buy out.

And also...who on earth would want Marko Jaric at 21M over the next three years?

He may be a nice player, but 7M a year for a nice backup player is just out of whack.

That roster looks pretty imbalanced, too. I would not want that team. No depth, a bad mix of youngsters and vets with a checkered past likely looking to win now. Recipe for disaster.

Lots of teams will be looking for capspace next year, so we should be able to swap LaFrentz for a pick of a sucking team (Knicks?) at the deadline.
We get our (expensive) shooter, a backup pg, depth at SF. There are still questionmarks remaining at the PF position, I don't know if any rookie will be ready to play meaningful minutes there. Perhaps part of the MLE for some low profile bruiser?

To be honest, I don't know much about Webster... is he a good fit next to Monta? Is he too good of a fit so Portland won't let him go? Is Kaponovic too expensive long time?

Not a good trade idea.

Harrington is a much better player than Kapono and has a better contract (amazingly). Kapono is set to make 18.6M over the next three years just to be a one trick pony that can shoot 3 pointers.

Parker is a nice player, but as long as we have Baron, Monta, and SJax we shouldnt be trading any valuable pieces for a backup SG/SF. Parker is also a FA at the end of next season which makes his addition likely a temporary or an expensive one.

I think Kelenna can do some of the things that Parker can but for a much better price. Plus, I am definitely not ready to toss in Marco on a deal unless it looks to be a difference maker for the franchise. He has got lots of potential and could be the excellent 3pt shooter that we are lacking right now.

Yes... I'm sure somewhere out there, Walker believes someone will pick up his option... if he's there only to pick up a check, he'll take it...

Jaric's become so underrated... the guy is a good slasher, average defender... he can move without the ball well, its a shame no one in Minnesota (and apparently here) notices... the Wolves have never had a good offense or offensive scheme - but was extremely noticeable at the end of the season...

Obviously, or so I thought, the roster was left without any guaranteed resignings or anything like that... Belinelli and Al are likely to be back regardless, Buke is likely gone though...

Yes its young, but where are the veterans with a checkered past? Jackson? Jaric? That's so completely unfounded.

That team is young, finding out exactly where we are... + cap room in 09-10.. itd be so good for the franchise, its a virtual lock we wouldn't do it.

Once again Reg, the reality of the situation defeats your fantasy rhetoric. Its simply not so easy to build a championship team with the snap of your fingers. You need good realistic moves combined with steady (and sometimes slow) development.
