If Dwight Howard was traded to or signed with the Hornets...
Assuming the Hornets' core was left intact,
How good would that team be in a historic perspective?
Would this team be a dynasty? Could it challenge Jordan's Bulls or some of the great Celtics or Lakers teams?

Shaq left Orlando to join the Lakers and that team became a dynasty , this is not as crazy of a scenario as you are making it out to be.

You honestly think that this could happen?
You have CPaul who will demand a max contract, West who will demand a near max contract, Chandler who will demand a $80 million contract, then you have Peja and other role players. Now add Dwight who will demand the biggest contract in the NBA?
Are you kidding me?
The Shaq and Lakers situation was different because Shaq came in with the Lakers having just drafted rookie Kobe Bryant and thus, they don't have to pay Kobe anywhere near max money.
The Lakers spent years building the cap for Shaq. If the Hornets build a cap for Dwight, they'll lose West and Chandler for sure and they'll be crap for years to come.
This is a fantasy scenario. Why do you think people aren't taking this seriously?

In my opinion, I wouldn't call them a dynasty. Three wins in three years. That is a good flash point. But comparing that to other teams... Bulls 6 in 8 years, Spurs 3 in 6 years, Det etc.Shaq left Orlando to join the Lakers and that team became a dynasty
I guess the definition of a dynasty is different depending on the person talking about it, but they way I see it is a longer time span of being on top without much downtime in between wins.
Lakers could still be a dynasty if they reach the finals this year and either win it or win it next year. They might be on top now.. but if they do not win it then it has been 6 years since they have done so. Elite team yes, dynasty no.
Really depends on your definition of a dynasty. Do they have to win, or do they just need to be a top 2-4 team for a certain number of years.

IMO Dynasties are periods of greatness spread out over a decade with at least four championships.
1. Boston Celtics of The 1960s
2. Chicago Bulls of The 1990s
3. Los Angeles Lakers of The 1980s
4. San Antonio Spurs of this Decade
You'd have to have been involved at the top of your conference/league every year to even be mentioned. Unfortunately, the Lakers' Dynasty this decade lasted from 2000-2004. That's only four years. If the Lakers can keep the success churning through 2011, then we might have a double-dynasty on our hands with the Heat/Pistons playing the role of Sixers/Pistons of the 80s.

What if Magic and Bird had a test tube baby and was injected with MJ's DNA then put on steroids, then took those drugs that hides steroids.. then was brought up in a good neighbourhood playing basketball against NBA superstars after games for 6 hours a day..
then that kid was then cloned 4 times so he there are 5 of them, then what if Pat Riley and Phil Jackson and Greg Popovic had a kid also and that kid coached the 5 cloned kids..
then they spend 2 years training and playing in NCAA then, they all got drafted by NBA teams, then for some reason, realistic reason... all those teams did deals that put the 5 together to one of the teams, then that team hires Pat, Phils and Greg's liove child as coach...
Then Kobe, Lebron, Nash, Howard, Paul, Boozer, Duncan, Garnett all got scared and decide to join the 5 clones... off the bench.
would that be a dynasty??
