I noticed his trade value on the trade board is surprisingly low. Although you have to take into consideration his injury concerns, he was 6th in the league from a PER standpoint at the PG position last year.
If we don't get Rose, is there any interest in trading for Ford if something like this can get it done:
Walker/McCants for Ford/Baston?
Ford/Foye/Jefferson/Brewer/Gomes/Our pick/FA center
I think that team has a shot at the playoffs next year with room to build.
TJ Ford.

Except from the leagues of TOR fans.
He's BYC, so we'd be adding additional salary, plus the length of his contract ($8.6 ave through 2011) makes me too nervous with his injury history.
Personally I like the guy, but I don't think the risk is worth the return.

You have to consider where he put up those numbers, though. Rafer Alston, Mike James, Ford and Jose Calderon (aside from his rookie season) have all had career years from a PER standpoint under Sam Mitchell. Just something worth noting.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

I wouldn't keep Foye if he's not going to be the point guard (I think he needs the ball to be effective.) And you're right regardless, a Foye/Ford backcourt would be too small.
I might participate in a larger deal with Ford ending up in MN, but a two-team deal doesn't look to make sense.
