Would You Trade Barbosa for Ben Gordon S/U along Mike D'

Post#1 » by 8/24 » Tue May 6, 2008 3:27 pm

Not a Suns or Bulls fan...but it seems that Ben is not a great fit to Mike D's system if he went to the Bulls....and seems that LB will not be a good fit in Phx if you go to a more tradiional half-court set type system.

Ben Gordon was a lottery pick......LB was a late 1st rounder.

Would sending Mike D' along with LB to Chicago and getting Ben G back be enough to satisfy both trade and compensation for your coach?

Edit: Just realized Ben is up for new contract -- and given your owner's phobia with his wallet... I think he'd nix that deal.

We can't afford Gordon unless he takes less than the $6 mil Barbs is making. So, unless he takes that contract, this is all moot.

There won't be any players/picks involved in this deal with MD. hes walking and the suns will not have to pay him the remainder 8.5 mil left on his contaract. So, sarver will be saving money by brining in a cheap coach.

However, I think it is time to look to trading LB, and maybe Diaw. I think Diaw is perfect in a system where he is point forward, and showed it again in the playoffs. Steve needs to create, amare needs the ball, and that did not happen with Diaw with the ball. He did well, but nash had hardle any assit and amares points went down.

I personally don't think that the Bulls would want to do this...

If they had the same contracts I would do the trade. But I personally have had enough of undersized shooting guards. Gordon has been trying to get a $10M/year + contract...way too much for him. For every shooting streak, he also tends to chuck the ball on occasion.
