Rate This Year Playoffs So Far

Post#1 » by Jordan45822 » Tue May 6, 2008 5:21 pm

I say average. Nothing compared to 2006 at all. And this year was supposed to destroy that year and last year. But I think the Boston vs Clevland series and the Lakers vs Jazz series will make it more interesting. And Spurs-Hornets is far from over. And ECF and WCF will be good.

Eh, just okay. The west first round was a HUGE disappointment with the best series being Jazz/Rockets which isn't saying much. At least the East was somewhat interesting. The 2nd round so far isn't shaping up too well either with Detroit and NO already taking 2-0 leads in pretty dominant fashion. Lakers/Jazz was a pretty good Game 1 so maybe some potential there and I don't think Cleveland gives Boston much trouble IMO. They'll wake up, like Detroit, from their first round scare.

It's been okay, nothing compared to 2006 though. But it has been awesome to see Chris Paul make the leap, and it's fun to see the Celtics play in meaningful games again.

So far we've only got the first round and part of round 2 to go on, but I'd say average. Lot of blowouts and the only first round matchup that was somewhat close near the end of the series was BOS/ATL (which was exciting to watch as long as they played in Atlanta, but was a snorefest when the two played in Boston). Orlando/Detroit would have been more interesting if the Magic weren't screwed by a three pointer that shouldn't have counted. SA should make things interesting against the Hornets (at least I hope). Boston/Cleveland should be pretty good. Utah/Lakers sounds good in theory as well.

I voted bad. The west playoffs didn't come close to matching the hype and the reffing seems worse than ever. If the Spurs keep getting destroyed and get eliminated I'd bump that way up to an excellent.

these playoffs have been considered a failure the way that i look at it because of all the hype and excitement that was supposed to go down...its ashamed that the eastern playoffs are destroying the western playoffs by a mile and lord knows that i hate the east. i would have at least thought the playoffs would be better than 07(the boringest playoffs ever) and be somewhat comparing to the 06 playoffs but boy was i wrong!

I'd rate them average to poor. All things equal, it's been average. Relative to expectations? Very poor. I thought it'd be much more interesting so far.

1. Spurs-Suns was a relative disappointment, especially after a GREAT game 1. The games were close for the most part, but it still was a 5 game series no matter how you slice it.

2. Houston-Utah re-match was understated this year because of the absense of Yao Ming. In fairness, we knew that going in and the Rockets did a little better than I thought they might have. Still wasn't the series it could and should have been on paper.

3. I thought Denver would be more of a challenge to LA, if only by having AI and Melo heat up for 40 apiece at least once.

4. Dallas kind of sputtered it's way out of the playoffs as well, leaving thw two teams that made major reactionary trades out in the first round.

The East side was actually better, IMO. Atlanta-Boston was a fun story. For awhile it looked like the Sixers could topple Detroit too.

Bad, no series were that great. Best series was Boston-Atlanta which speaks volumes about this playoffs.

Atleast better than last year. The only good thing last year were the WARRIORS.

It sad because referee seem to want to control games. In all series, but game 2 of orl/det is the most obvious example. Disgraceful.
