At the same time I think it would've been best for Brown to not say anything. It's not like he's going to be the one doing any real damage. I don't see it as Brown saying anything disrespectful, but Let Lebron talk because he's actually gonna drop numbers. That is practically a given.

Well said.

But it's never (usually) the stars that talk smack, but the scrubs.
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

The C's should do the same thing with this Devin Brown clown

This thread seems like forced controversy. Cavs had to deal with so much unqualified trash talk last series, they aren't going to turn around and do the same thing.

What I took away from this is, the Celtics played great all year, and everyone was looking at them before like "Man, they look unbeatable", but the Hawks took away that edge. Even though everyone knew the Celtics weren't unbeatable...it just seemed that way.

So basically Devin now thinks the Celtics are really good instead of un-freakin-believable. Hardly the controversy everyone wants it to be. Also, Devin is going to see, what, 10 minutes a night...who cares.

You're right, it's not a big deal. I'm just sick of players whining about how much trash the Celtics players talk. If you beat them, they won't be able to talk trash. It's like they're trying their hardest to make the Celtics out to be the villians. Don't bother. In the eyes of everyone outside of Boston, you're a villain as soon as you put on that green uniform. If people can talk about how much they hate Ray Allen, then you know it's a Boston thing, or at least a Celtics thing. That guy never says a word all game.

I am sure something will happen during the series to make each each team, and their respective fans and media hate each other. No sense trying to conjure up something now.

Who cares. Players are pumped and this is a big series. If we beat them, they'll shut up.

But there's no "stuff" and no controversy here, like people have been saying. It's the media probably trying to get a juicy quote from anyone and everyone, and Devin chose to respond to one of the questions. And all he was saying is...like others have stated...that Boston can now be viewed as a great but beatable team instead of unbeatable.

There's an article on ESPN.com quoting LeBron as saying he "expects" to win this series....

Nothing wrong with that. He should expect to win. Everyone should always expect to win when they step on the court.

I agree, but this season he has been coming off a little more arrogant (not in a good way) than before...

Exactly. I fully expect Lebron to say that, as I fully expect KG or Pierce to say that. It'd be horrible to think otherwise.

Like others have said, there's no need to try and dig for any possible quote that'll piss you guys off. You guys will get plenty heated, as will us Cavs fans, once the series begins.
