Chris Paul or Kobe for MVP?
Wanted to get everyone thoughts on who the MVP should be. I say Chris Paul you take him away from NO and they suck. Put him on any other team and they make the playoffs. Where I think you move Kobe to any other team and he doesnt make them that much better. There scoring would go up but nothing else.

They need to rename the award IMO because it doesn't really go to the most VALUABLE player but with that said... Kobe since we don't have much of a choice now lol

You look at that Hornets team and take Paul out of the equation, that team would be a lottery team.
Chris Paul should be MVP.
Amen. Watch what Midget is doing to the Spurs. The end.
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

Consider this, yesterday I was checking out the general board and I saw a thread titled " Chris Paul is the best PG I've ever seen"
I didn't actually read the contents of the thread but that's pretty damned overrated if you ask me.

How is that? Not everyone is 50 years old, if you've only been watching the NBA for the past 10 years he is most deffinet the best PG in those years in fact in the history of the NBA no PG has done what he has... name the NBAs greatest PG and all of them had much better talent than CP3.

I like Chris Paul b/c I think he is everything to that team being a point guard. Number 1 scorer..number 1 playmaker. Best perimeter defender.
I think what may have happened here is that writers really knew they screwed up last year giving it to Dirk. They didn't want to make that mistake with Paul. As we all see now it would not have been a mistake but this thing is voted on before the playoffs start.
Still Kobe is very deserving. Can't take anything away from him but this wasn't his best season IMO. He didn't do anything special this season. I think Paul was the first player in about 15 years to average 20 points and 10 assists in a season.
But still like I said...Kobe is deserving and its good to have two people who truly deserve the award after last year's horrible decision to go with a very undeserving Dirk.

The formula has been pretty consistent of late, I'll give them that.
MVP = best player on best team (record wise) in the strongest conference
Previous 4: Nash, Nash, Dirk, Kobe
If they're gonna be consistent, seems fair enough to me. Otherwise it's just an unwinnable argument-fest over ascending/descending criteria order.

None of Kidds' team have every looked as impressive as Pauls, Kidd was and still is a better rebounder, but Paul is miles ahead in scoring, other than that they are the equal
Kidd lead the non-playoff Nets to #1 in the East and to the finals
that's not impressive?
