It depends on what your team wants to accomplish. If you are looking to fill your seats, and become a competitive team again. Then D'antoni can definitely accomplish those goals. (Exactly what Chicago is trying to do) However if you want to win a championship. You take a pass on D'antoni. His style of play is for entertainment purposes and to fill seats. Not to raise banners.

I believe that he was just in a tough situation in Phoenix. The
FO constantly downgraded the team and they asked him to coach a crappy team by the season and he gets the blame. That is a no-no. It's not like Sarver is doing his best job to get the best players.
Bulls players lack one quality: Confidence. They really have good shooters and all it takes is flip a switch.
As for the Suns, no one better than MD will take that position. Definitely not Avery Johnson.

D'antoni was general manager for a while and very much a part of the FO when he was just the so called coach. He's as much to blame for what you call a 'crappy' team.

I don't know why people think D'Antoni is a good coach. He had Nash, Stoudemire, and Marion. All three of those players are better than anyone he will get on the Bulls. Plus, he had role players (at various times) like Barbosa, Bell, Diaw, and Johnson. He got outcoached every year in the playoffs, and his system is incompatible with winning a championship. If the Bulls hire him he will be a (very expensive) mistake.
The Bulls can shoot. This year was a down year, but last year they were #2 in 3P% and the year before they were in the top 10.
