Brandan Wright and Marco Belinelli

Post#1 » by WadeKnicks2010 » Wed May 7, 2008 12:30 am

I remember at the start of this season for fantasy basketball I added them to my team off waivers (very deep league). They were in Don Nelson's fast pace offense so I figured they might be some decent steals. But they provided absolutely nothing and i quickly discarded them after two weeks. Just checking in, did these guys do anything for your team this season? They were fairly recognizeable names coming into this draft. Did they show any signs of becoming good players in the future?

Until Don Nelson leaves, I doubt it.

wright has a good chance at being a major player on a good team.

Marco has a 50/50 chance at being a rotational player in the future.

So basically, I'm putting lots of hope into Wright being a cornerstone of our future alongside Monta and Andris... whereas, anything Marco gives us in the future would be a bonus for me.

And i'm not anti Marco, i really like the kid, and think he can definitely ball... he just needs to reshape his game in order to make it in the NBA.

They showed signs-especially Wright-but they failed to get the minimal opportunity to show what they could do or to add anything via experiance. It's not about them. Our previous 2 lotto picks got treated like strangers who showed up uninvited. Our next lotto pick will have the same fate. Perhaps someday there will be the realization that all the great players were once rookies and none were great until they played in games.

Pretty radical notion.

With his youth combined with some nagging injuries over the summer, it wasn't a big surprise that Wright didn't play early.

It was hugely dissappointing that Wright didn't stay prominantly in the rotation after he played well in the games that Andris missed. With Barnes and MP iffy down the stretch, GS needed another rotation player and still didn't use Wright.

Compare that to Julian Wright in NO. He's a year older than Brandon, but still didn't play much early. But down the stretch his PT increased so that now he's an effective 20 mpg guy making Dallas and SA look old and slow in the playoffs. Brandon should've played that type of role down the stretch for GS.

This season in the paint Brandan got cleared out like a fridge full of Pabst at a frat house.

I hope he's working on his lower body strength already.

I was really really really really hoping we would have grabbed Julian. Pisses me off to see him play on the Hornets.

Brandan Wright was getting near double double when he played towards the latter half of the season.

Funny, him and Julian were getting the same burn. I wish we woulda have swung Pietrus + 18th for Julian.

Rudy Gay... NO
Julian... NO
Sean Williams? NO (would have been the "shot blocker")

He's got a big upside, and showed flashes.

But if people think he's all good to go they're drinkin' the Kool-Aid.

14.5 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 2.1 bpg to go with 55.4% fgp per 36 minutes, not bad for a guy who supposedly was getting "pushed around".

I guess Bukie, Barnes and Pietrus were holding their own down there, right? Nobody clearing those guys out (Brandon was playing behind those guys, lol). That's a joke right?

didnt realize the consensus on right was this low ... I know a team in Sacramento that wouldnt mind getting their hands on him. Give the kid some time ...
Interesting, you have some ideas you would like to bounce off Brian Sabean? That's strange, I have some objects I would like to bounce off Brian Sabean.

Brandan will play next year. He will be a key component to our "non-Championship, Fools Gold, yet entertaining" team.
Lets Go Baron Davis...i dont care what jersey you put on. Lets go.
Big Smooth is focused and ready to handle the centers of the league.
Curry and Ellis will be a top 5 back court this season. 6/25/2010
