Who else is hoping for a Hornets vs. Jazz WCF...
Im hoping for a Jazz vs Hornets WCF's. There is some interesting matchups. Most notably CP3 vs Dwill since they came out of the same draft and will always be compared like Bird and Magic. Anyone else like to see this matchup ? Keep it clean guys so the mods don't shut this thread down.

Alright alright, I'll give it a chance.
Just warning everyone now, no personal attacks please.
And to answer the OP, no, I'm not hoping for it, because the Jazz are the only team that has completely owned us.

If it gets ugly feel free to lock the thread I have no problem with that. Im hoping everyone can keep it civil. I would like to see the matchup because I think it is going to be a great rivalry for years to come. The Hornets are playing excellent and the playoffs is a whole different game then in the regualur season. I would have to favor the Hornets in a 7 game series even though im a Jazz fan.

We flashed some hope when we had that blow out against the Jazz in New Orleans, and we are definitely playing our best ball right now.
I'm confident we can hang with anyone right now, but the Jazz are still the last team I would want to play.

I'd definitely feel good about our chances against the Hornets, but considering we have our hands full against LA, that series seems a long way off. And New Orleans has peaked at just the right time, it seems, anyway, so I don't know that the regular season is a good barometer for how a WCF series against them would go.
Deron seems to be the one guy who gives Paul fits, but Playoff Deron and Playoff Paul have yet to meet. I think that's something 90% of the NBA world would like to see in the near future.

It's difficult to tell whether that's something that will continue because we've got his number or whether it's one of those situations where he finally accepts the challenge and pushes through the wall.
I'd love to have the opportunity to find out in the WCF. Unfortunately, the Jazz are going to have to play their best ball of the year to have any chance to get past LA, and the Spurs may not be ready to roll over and die (as much mirth as it would bring me to see that).

Should I interpret this as pompous overconfidence or an invalid objection to legitimate basketball discussion on a basketball message board?

If the Hornets continue playing this well and beat the Spurs, I don't really care who they face in the WCF. The story lines will be there regardless of the opponent. I suppose the Jazz would be nice though, if only because the Hornets have shown quite the ability to beat opponents down in front of their home crowd.

Would rather see a Hornets vs Lakers to see who really is the MVP. After that see one of them play against KG in the finals.
Since all three are contenders that is the most legit way to determine who was really the best this year.

Shouldn't the winner of the title determine who was the legit choice regardless of whether they faced each other or not. For example, Hornets face the Jazz and then face the Pistons and win the title, would people not say Paul was the legit MVP even without ever facing either KG or Kobe? Same goes for the other 2, but this applies more for Kobe and Paul than for Garnett since neither him or his team have been what we call "dominate"
