Mission Accomplished: Check Statue of Liberty on Orange Ave

Post#1 » by OrlMagic4Ever » Wed May 7, 2008 7:20 am

Around 2 AM this morning two friends and I followed through with the plan of dressing the mini Statue of Liberty on Orange Ave by Lake Ivanhoe in a Magic jersey. We also put a Magic foam finger on her. She's rocking an old school Bo Outlaw jersey. Wish I had a good reason why we picked Bo's, but mainly no one wanted to sacrifice a new one.

Anyhow, keep your eyes open if you drive by Lady Liberty. Hopefully no one takes the stuff down, at least not for a few days.

Go Magic.

Pictures should be available soon. We took some tonight on my friend's camera, but they were fairly blurry cause the thing's a piece of junk. Once he sends them to me I'll post them. I think we might go back tomorrow once it's light and take pictures, and if we do I'll post those.

Interestingly, when the All-Star game was in Las Vegas, adidas put a Dwight jersey on the Statue of Liberty outside the New York New York casino.

I remember when several downtown buildings right off of I4 would have huge banners with players on them ...

Drove by and took pics over an hour ago, sadly I did not see the foam finger (somebody probably took it down if it was covering the torch), but the Bo jersey is on in all its glory.

This one can actually have something (like a Dwight dunk) photoshopped to the left of it:
