Now his exit leaves the Hawks with many more questions to answer, beyond who will replace him. Contracts have to be negotiated not only for staff members but also for restricted free agents Josh Smith and Josh Childress. The earliest that can be done is July 1.
"It's a strange day," Smith said. "I don't know what to make of what's going on right now. I do know that I feel for BK. He drafted all of us and watched us all grow the past four years and for him not to be a part of it anymore just doesn't feel right to me."
Oh boy! Is the BK vs. Woody also a J Smith vs. JJ?

What did you think Smith would say when Sekou called him? Thank god he's gone? Where is your quote from Joe saying that he's happy BK is gone?
Woodson said Monday that the Hawks' first step toward getting back to the playoffs next season is to make sure Smith and Childress are kept in the fold.

JJ is on record supporting Woodson, and has made several comments about management and the youth "running amuck" on this team.
Smith's comments were less than glowing about Woody, but he says he doesn't know what's going on and things don't feel right without BK. This is our most important free agent.
Smith is obviously the young guy JJ was talking about. JJ wants Woodson to stay. JJ says the coaching staff is why he came. No mention of the "management" except to criticize it. Smith can't stand Woodson, basically said he is annoyed by the coach's philosophy. Then when BK leaves he says he don't feel the attachment he had before. He speaks of BK drafting all of them. This to me shows who he's attached to here. Maybe I'm reading too much into it. But this doesn't sound like teammates seeing eye to eye on this organization

I'd role with that conclusion.
Joe and Josh seem to have fun together on the court. As far as who Joe was talking about, shooting numbers from game 7:
5-17
3-11
3-12
3-11
It isn't "obvious" he was talking about anyone. He said the entire team stunk, they came out lethargic, no game plan, etc.
He was talking about everyone including himself and his coach.
Did Joe ever say he wanted BK gone? Joe said he wanted the Joshes back.

WTF? Gearon wasn't thinking of replacements for Billy Knight prior to Tuesday? The GM and the head coach haven't spoke since the story of the attempted firing broke. Had to be considering firing at least one of the two since they had made it apparent that they couldn't work together. I pray this was just "handling the media" cause if he was being honest it is just freaking sad.
