If you really read what us Jazz fans are saying, you're gonna see we're not complaining about the calls the Lakers got. We know the Jazz defense was horrible. Hell, the Lakers shot 57%from the field and even better from the 3 point line. We're complaining about the non-calls on the offensive end. I know the Lakers' defense is better than ours, but 16 foul shots for a team that's one of the best at drawing fouls in the league? And don't tell me the Jazz settled for jumpshots. We drove inside just as much or even more than the Lakers. We probably would have lost the game even with more calls, but I'm sure we would have a better chance.

You mean all the open shots and lay ups you missed .
You mean the fact that the Jazz are ranked N# 1 in the league for Fouls .
You mean the fact that Bozzer had 3 fouls and comes in the game and within what 33 seconds in the game he misses a open shot and then Gasol rebounds and Boozer ripps Gasols head off .

You guys just played poor defense and you commited a lot of Dum fouls .
Just face it , the Lakers are playing solid D and they are all insync .
Sort of like the Spurs a few years ago when they won the tilte .

Didn't Utah lead the league in foul shots this season and last season? Even though the Jazz score all those points in the paint, the Lakers still seem to get more foul shots.

No only you and the Jazz fans think that way , also the reason the lakers are getting more calls is simple .

KOBE ............
He is the aggressor . He draws fouls .

I didn't see the box score when I first posted in this thread about the biased refs. Wooow.

I knew I saw some utterly BS fouls on AK47 in the second half, but I didn't realize it was that bad.
We have met the enemy, and he is us.

BS, the Jazz hit Kobe nearly every single time he drives to the basket. In fact there are some times when Kobe is fouled and the refs don't call it cause they don't want to be calling fouls on every possession.

The Jazz have no one to blame, but themselves. I have never seen a team hack as much as the Jazz are this series. Stop complaining about the reffing. Complain about the Jazz's style of play.

The Jazz are a bunch of hacks. None of them can move their feet so they play the "hump your leg" defense. They push, they grab, they hack everyone. You should be glad Kobe hasn't shot 20 FTs in a half yet like he did in Utah last year.

Imagine they'd call every time Bryant was fouled yesterday... he'd probably go to the line 30 times.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1GfVEI6yCg

yeah, no foul there...

30 PFs to 20.

5 came when intentionally fouling in the last minute (I thought 6, but a Jazz fan corrected me that the one at 1:01 wasn't intentional). 6 FTs by Sasha, 2 by Gasol and 2 by Kobe.

That makes for 25 to 20 in fouls called. What a grave disparity.

43 to 16 FTs. Take away those 10 and you have 33. And Kobe had 10 of those 33... with all of the hacking he's endured (he drove a lot yesterday), I doubt any sane fan (of either team) will argue that he got to the line to many times. That leaves 23 FTs by the rest of the team. Is that honestly that big a difference? I mean look at the last game at SLC (25 to 20 FTs in the Jazz's favour and 21 to 21 PFs called)

Granted some calls could've gone Utah's way, but they did shoot 55 jumpshots at the end of the day... I seriously don't see THAT big of a deal. Certainly not the reason the team lost and certainly not a part of a greater plan to bring the Lakers to the Finals and because the entire organization and the World dislikes the state of Utah, their team and their players. I hope no one will complain when us Lakers fans litter the thread with ref scrutiny after one of the next games when things don't go our way. (kidding of course, I rarely mentione the refereeing)

And to the guy who quoted a post from a Jazz board some pages ago: the Jazz won all of those categories (more FGs made, less TOs (not sure about this one, don't have the time to look it up), more offensive boards, more 2nd chance opportunities) in game 1 too and the result was virtually the same. So that means that in reality it should've been 2-0 for the Jazz?

Eh, arguing over refs is weak. We all know that the team that won (or should I say, their fans) almost never complains about the refs and the team that lost almost always does. That's the way it is, I guess. When the Jazz at least stay competitive throughout the game and lose because of suspicious calls, I'll be the first to admit that the Lakers got a helping hand. And you can quote me on that, if it happens. I'm not as emotionally attached to the team as the people who grew up in LA (or someplace else) or are cheering for them since they were kids, because I come from another continent, about 6000 miles away and have my own home team to defend here.

why can't we all just... get along? ;)

cheers

Exactly, McGrady got hacked like that too but the refs didn't call it.

The NBA just gives calls to the Lakers. Pretty much any other team the Jazz would be able to get away with it.

MVP deserves the calls. Just like when duncan won it a couple of years ago and when Dikembe won the defensive player of the year, its not a foul its a block. NBA has always favored the award winners. Yet now cause its kobe and the lakers, more people notice.

Arguing about refs is just part of the healing process for the losing team, its normal and therapeutic. That being said, claiming some sort of vast NBA conspiracy whose goal is to get LA to the finals is not only ridiculous, it's kind of pathetic. No offense intended, we all dabble in conspiracy theories from time to time, but really, the real world, this would be an impossibility.

I just want to know how that's so widely accepted......... I mean everyone acknowedges it goes on, so isn't the NBA basically saying they are curbing the game towards supertstars? That's not fair - that's horse chit.

Those calls sure helped them in 05-06 and 06-07 postseasons.

Nope, refs give calls to great teams, and the Lakers happen to be a great team. It's going to be a another looong decade for Laker haters.
