It's easily one of the most lopsided trades in history, but it's rarely complained about compared to some other trades.

In addition to padding stats, Rodman was also not as effective on the Spurs as his stats would indicate. I think someone called him out for padding stats, which was most notably the case when he left Horry open for a wide open trey because he wanted to get in position to rebound instead. Rodman was no longer the tremendous hustle guy he was with the Pistons, but fortunately with the Bulls, he had plenty of game left to be tapped.

Yeah, but the point was that they won 55 games and got to the second round of the playoffs. Jordan is that missing piece, that superstar (or in his case, legend of the game, lol) that gets that team over the hump.

I think Kosar was just reaffirming that it wasn't Jordan alone that made the Bulls a dynasty. Pippen, and then primary role players over the years like Grant, Rodman, Kerr, Armstrong, etc. deserve their fair share of credit.

They were close to missing the playoffs the following year when MJ made his comeback. That team had some good players and would have been in the playoffs a lot but they would have never won a title without Jordan.

They had to consult some of the guys. Jordan and Pippen hated Rodman from the bad boy days. It wasn't exactly a celebration.

Yeah...you seem to be missing my point.

They would have been in the playoffs a lot, and been a second/third round team, but Jordan was the superstar that made them a champion.

It'd be kind of like if Jordan joined this year's Magic. We won 52 games, and are in the second round of the playoffs. Let's say the Pistons close us out and our season ends here....

Now, add Jordan to the mix, and we win a title. Would it be Jordan himself who won the title, or would it also be Jordan who won the title surrounded by a really good nucleus of players, including another all-star (Howard)?

(Just a BIG hypothetical. I don't want to now hear "but wait, Howard > Pippen! - ?" or vice versa because anyone who starts with it just missed my point again.)

If not for this "foul", the Bulls would have at least made it to the Conference Finals (facing the Pacers, who they dominated that season):

Thanks to Hue Hollins

The Bulls should be the last to complain about a foul call considering all the phantom calls Jordan got in his career. Plus lets not forget that the Knicks played 2 1/2 games with Derek Harper who got tossed and suspended for two games when scrub Jo Jo English started a fight with him.
