i think i understand the wiz's dilemma.......WITH arenas and Jamison, even when they're healthy the wiz are a very flawed team...kinda like Denver. You got 2 out of ur 3 best players completely uninterested in defense. But if they decide to go in a new direction, they don't really have great young pieces. Caron is an outstanding player but he's 28 already and outside of him the wiz don't have much real talent

You do realize he is 39th in the league in reb per 48? and 53rd in pts per 48?

Yeah, uh, 15 & 10 is a long way off.

Nope. Haywood is a very efficient player when he gets plays set up for him. Problem is Eddie Jordan doesn't really run a lot of plays for Haywood since the Wiz have 3 all stars.

Considering that Haywood is now shooting a really good percentage on his free throws and has some decent moves around the net, a 15/10 season is not a stretch for him if hes on the right team.

Wow, those ranks are actually a lot better than I thought and improve my view of him. 39th and 53rd in the league are both in the 31-60 range, which means he should be second-best on his team! A player who's second in both points and rebounds (yes, I saw, per 48) is a guy I'd take any day.

Jamison would be horrible in Orlando btw. They have enough tall SFs who can't play defence.

To all of you getting all frazzled about Gilbert, STFU. He's just trying to put pressure on management to re-sign his buddy. Every star does it, Gilbert just likes going public with his for whatever reason. Why wouldn't he want management to keep Jamison?

Arenas and Jamison will both get big deals this offseason and stick with the club. The contracts might kill them going forward but so be it. I'm sutre they'll be tradeable assets anyway.

For the record, I like Butler and Haywood most on that team, and would build around them. That's me though.

Dwight Howard struggles against Haywood and its not because of flopping. Haywood does this too many post players in the league. He's by far one of the most underrated players in the league. Guy could be a 15/10 guy if Eddie Jordan knew how to use his talent.

Agreed with everything except the 15/10 thing. He might get 15 if he got enough touches and improved his interior moves, but the 10 rebounds would only occur if he got 35+ minutes per night -- something that just won't happen.

Whoever said he was a backup center at best clearly has no knowledge of the subject matter whatsoever, and therefore looks at Haywood's career numbers and calls it a wrap. Nevermind that he's a top 5 post defender in the NBA or any of that, and that he's respectable on the interior and had the single highest free throw percentage improvement in the NBA this year.

Anyway, regarding Arenas, it's been said before and it will be said again -- the man says what's on his mind at the moment. And he'll be completely sincere in his statements, but the thing that people don't understand is that his thoughts change from minute to minute and interview to interview. You should never take anything he says seriously because that story is likely going to be obsolete in a day or two. It's just the way he is.

I still don't think this will be much of a story, anyway. Arenas doesn't have any options other than Washington, if he's looking for 12+ million per season. Jamison won't get the offensive freedom and team role anywhere but Washington, and he knows this better than anyone. We'll throw good money at both of them (higher than anyone else will), and most likely, both will be Washington Wizards at the start of next season.

He actually shoots a high percentage and is very efficient. You have to ignore the outdated field goal percentage and factor in it's replacement - effective field goal percentage (eFG%), and/or true shooting percentage (TS%).

Less believable than Kobe.

NBA superstars basically deal with authority like children, they whine and threaten to leave.

This is a little off topic, but I've been seeing those terms(eFG and TS), but I've never known exactly what they were. What are they?

I actually think Jamison would prefer Charlotte out of any other team unless he has some loyalty to Washington. But I don't think Charlotte would want anything to do with Arenas since they already have a great 2 guard who needs all the shots on the perimeter. And Charlotte certainly can't afford them both.

I don't think LB will give up Gerald or Emeka in a sign in trade. LB also said he wanted to work with Felton because he could be Chauncey 2.0. And J-Rich is a great 2 guard for the money.

The team obviously needs Jamison. Should be interesting to see what happens.

This is the link I provide to everyone who asks this question. It goes in-depth, but also gives explanations in layman's terms...

Look under "Shooting" for specific reasons why eFG% and TS% effectively replace fg% which became fairly useless after the implementation of the 3pt line.
