Camby didn't deserve to be so high to being with. Like others have said, his D is grossly overrated, and isn't an offensive machine like Amare either. Yao being on the all nba team despite his injuries is more of a product of the lack of great centers than anything else IMO.

I would of put Ginobili, T-Mac, Pierce on 2nd team

Nash, Dirk to third

Can't quite move Deron off of 2nd team.

Other than that, they all good to me

Really no problem with the list. I nearly wish Boozer got snubbed so he'd get off his lazy ass and play.

I'm sorry but there is NO WAY that Billups deserved it over Kobe, Paul, Williams, Nash, Manu or McGrady.

Isn't it ironic that Williams is 4th for guards after the MVP (Kobe), the runner-up (Paul), and a 2 time MVP (Nash), BUT he didn't make the All-Star game over Roy who was out of the playoffs at the time of the selection?

No reason for Dirk to be second team with McGrady, Gino and Pierce all deserving the spot more.

The thing is that the MVP ballot only goes 5 deep, which distorts the spots below that a bit.

My thoughts:

Billups got robbed. I had him on my 2nd team, and wouldn't have a problem with him on 3rd, but having him miss out altogether and thus shutting the Pistons out completely is just wrong.

Yao deserved nothing. Played only a fraction of the season and the team showed he didn't actually help them much for the second season in a row.

Who deserved that 3rd center spot? Pau Gasol. I'm guessing a lot of voters just didn't really think about the fact that Gasol was plenty eligible as a center since he's generally considered a power forward.

lol yea pau gasol actually would've made a good 3rd team center. kaman was on a losing team, camby really isnt THAT great, but i think cuz he played with memphis for half a season ppl didnt really think of him as being "eligible" for the all nba teams since he only got 5 votes.

I also say that I had Iverson on my 3rd team. Others (Deron Williams specifically) were close enough to him that I don't see him as "robbed" but still, I have had him higher than the voters did.

Yup, I'm not surprised, but they really missed the boat. It'd be one thing if he'd played terrible in Memphis, but he really didn't. He played great the whole season, and that level of play was clearly enough to help a team move up to a title contender status. That puts him ahead of Yao by any rational metric.

It was a team thing, so I understand. But by the same rationale, no one from the Pistons (2nd best record) but 2 players from 5 other teams made it lol.

And the Gasol and Shaq both getting 5 votes is a joke.

Most of the selections i have no problem with. Unlike most homers i have an issue with a selection from my own team. Boozer has sucked it up late in the season and into the playoffs. But i'd take him over any of the forwards below him so I guess that it's about right. Forwards usually are where the go to 20-10 players are and when he's one of the best it's pathetic.

I really hoped Antawn Jamison would make the 3rd team since he was the Wizards MVP this year, Mr. Consistent, averaging a 20+ points and 10+ rebounds while improving his defense and putting a team that had no business being a 5 seed on his back and carrying them to the playoffs. With Arenas out nearly the entire season, Butler out for around 20 games, the Wiz relied heavily on Jamison and he delivered night-in and night-out.

But I completely understand that there were others who were just as deserving.

Agreed.

Also agree with other posters that billups got snubbed.

Every year there is a player who gets snubbed but I think there isn't a real legit robbery this year compared to years past.

I agree completely with the first-team selections. I don't see how anybody could make even one change on that lineup.

So because 9 LOTTERY teams didn't even get a single vote somehow that means the Pistons didn't get slighted?

While 4 teams that had a record lower than Detroit had twice as many players make the All-NBA teams, we should feel privileged that some of our players were CONSIDERED?

We were the only top ten team in the league not to have a player selected. Boston (2), Detroit (0), LA (1), NO (1), San Antonio (2), Utah (2), Houston (2), Phoenix (2), Orlando (1), Dallas (1).

You can't tell me that team record wasn't a BIG indicator of who made the list and who didn't.

Billups was very underrated. You can make a strong case he had a better season than Deron, let alone McGrady
