Trade Proposal: Lamar Odom +Fillers for Carmelo

Post#1 » by 8/24 » Fri May 9, 2008 6:38 pm

the AI/Carmelo combo obviously didn't work....and your owner is looking for Lux tax relief.

Would Denver fans accept a trade offer of say:

Lamar Odom (becomes an expiring contract this upcoming season)
Jordan Farmar (Good young promising guard....a position badly vacant on your team right now)
2nd Round Pick

For

Carmelo Anthony + any necesary fillers to make salaries within CBA.

The Lakers won't do that in a million years.

does that sound like a deal too good to turn down for the Nuggets?

No, but the Lakers won't break up their team right now, as the finally play successful.

The Spurs wouldn't trade Ginobili for Anthony either, although Anthony is a better player.

That sounds great, lets make Odom the #1 offensive option for the Nuggets, when AI decides he wants to go sign with a contender. This team would be lucky to win 35 games after that trade.

Lakers would do it without even thinking about it.

Melo's value is low, while Odom't value is high now. Lakers are good at "buy low sell high".

Personally I would deal Melo for Redd+CV+picks

Why would the lakers want another ballhog? Kobe is bad enough as it is.

If the Nuggets trade Melo I'll probably stop watching games.

this organization is a JOKE.

So lets keep karl and his 3-16 playoff record, trade away one of the most talented players in the league, and step up philly iverson 2.0, remember that time he got to the finals and won one game, maybe we can win 2 before getting swept! yay! go nuggets.

if melo is gone before karl, i will burn everything nuggets related that i own.

That is no longer true...least not this season. Plus, look at the scrubs (or undeveloped players) he had to deal with the past 4 years?

are you trying to turn the Lakers into the Knicks salary wise?

Kobe, Pau, Bynum and you wanna add Melo?

plus we have Walton and Vlad on the bench making 5 mil a year for the next 4 years

No chance of such trade

if buss doesnt want to extend Odoms contract then i would do it, Melo would be a true SF in our offense.

^^^ FIRST SMART POST LOL. the lakers turn this down anyone saying that is def smoking crack currently as they type. Lamar odom is nice and things are going good for the lakers but lamar has a vouple seasons left tops at his current level. Melo has a decade. and is the better player to begin with. With BYnum ready to be a full tiem center and Gasol a full tiem PF the have no reason to keep odom around if they got offered a tru small forward that oh yeah has always been near the top of league in scoring hmmm thats a tought one MElo >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Odom no matter how the lakers are currently playing

You think Odom is going to take a paycut? Just replacing one salary with another.

Plus if you get Melo, we can dump Radman on someone.

That's what I'm getting at. Next year, with a healthy Bynum, Odom may not be a good fit due to his suspect (or lack of an) outside shot.

That's a bad trade for Denver.

All of the melo trades today are getting us away from the players that really need to be traded: Camby and AI, and to a lesser degree Chucky.

Would you guys consider trading Anthony for Mike Miller, Hakim Warrick, and 2 future second round picks.

Come over to the Milwaukee board. We've got a long thread going on possible Melo trade offers.

http://www.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=788051

Some of us would do that deal.

But what are the "picks"?
