Offseason Moves that Need to Happen

I loved the race for the Western Conference playoffs, and the historic seasons that Lebron and CP put in this season, and i think that next year will be great as well. My hope is that we get a couple more really good teams in the East, and then we won't have people knocking the Magic for "only" being a 3 seed in the East. I'm not kicking ash on this season yet, but from reading the Wiretap, I couldn't help but think of a couple moves that I would like to see happen to make the NBA more exciting. First, and most importantly, I know that we need to upgrade our back court. Looking at who is available, I think that a fully rehabbed Shaun Livingston would be good for this team. He's tall, has a great handle, he's a gifted passer and most importantly he is a solid defensively. if he can play 75 games next year, I think that would be a nice coup for the Magic if we can get him.

My second thought was that D'Antoni and TJ Ford both need to go to New York. If Ford can run a high speed offense with Nate Rob backing him up and Crawford doing his thing, I think that the Knicks can be out of the cellar easily. This also inadvertently makes the Raptors a little better.

My third idea is a Carmelo for Andre Miller swap. The Sixers aren't winning anytime soon, so why not let Louis Williams take over as the starting point guard? A core of Williams, Anthony, Iggy, Thad and Dalambert could be great pretty soon. Plus this gets Willie Green off the court and gives them an elite crunch time scorer.

The Knicks are more than a coach and point guard away from winning anything. Their first move should be unloading Curry and/or Randolph. They are the worst 4/5 combo in the league.

Melo for Miller would certainly need fillers to work.

Not too many good options on that list. I wouldn't mind if we could get Calderon. we also need to bring Dooling back.

You know what I'd like to see? A trade for the rights to Rudy Fernandez, that'd make my offseason. Not happening offcourse (Portland is crazy about the dude, and rightfully so), but still a nice daydream.
