I'm with Turk on this one...Charles was a fat tub of lard at Auburn and during his rookie year with the sixers...His weight varied, but at times he was huge like he is now on TNT...Moses Malone took the kid under his wing and got him shaped up.

He was never close to as big as he is now. That's wild.

Look at your picture dude, how round his face was. That's not the same as the second picture. Are you sure that second picture was during his rookie season cause I sure thought he was in the league a while before he took off all the weight. This is the only thing I could find that says anything about his weight in college. The said that he was 275 while at auburn. I swear I saw him bigger than this video:

Davis is reported 295 (but was down to 280 at the beginning of the season). 275 at 6'4 I think is pretty close. I distinctly remember seeing Charles bigger than in this video. Maybe it was before the season started, I could be wrong on that (maybe it was after he got that first contract, lol). Charles was sdefinitely overweight when he first came into the league, bizarro not.

Turk,
In all honesty. He looks heavy back then yes. But now he is likely to be legitmately obese. You're not even talking about the same person.

Yeah, you're right, a bit of exagerration on my part, he'd have to be leaner just by virtue that he was playing basketball back then but man that guy could woof it down, even back then. I'd say that he and Truck Robinson were about the fattest guys I even seen come into the league (maybe along with Oliver Twist, I mean Miller). He's the only one who I ever saw turn out to be so good and unlike most of them, he was pretty darn good even when he was overweight, but once he slimmed down, he became great.

Ryan Gomes might be an Al type of big that Nellie would like. Strong enough to bang (he's a much better rebounder than AL), but also can handle guarding SF's and he has a really nice offensive game.

I still think Carl Landry would work for Nellie. He was pretty polished offensively when I watched him. (Not talking about a long range shooter, but not a mechanical bull either). Smart player.

Barkley was a player and was reported to be a quick jumper despite that weight which along with positioning made him a great rebounder.

Trade I would see Harrington to new Knicks for Rose, Chandler, Wilson. A short deal and some players who would sit on the bench.

Actually, Wilson Chandler is just one player.
