Kobe Bryant is better player right now, but Paul is not far behind.

You can argue Kobe and Chris Paul all day everyday.
The one fact is that Kobe is NOT on Jordan level.

oh really, Kobe Bryant has better total stats than Jordan at age 29., Kobe is not Michael Jordan. but he is the closest thing to him, especially the way Kobe is playing right now, the gap is definitely not that big.

IMO, Kobe is the best. Kobe is on a Jordan level right now. CP3 is on a Magic level right now. Jordan > Magic.... There you go.

Fish is playing very well especially defensively. His defensive rotations and defensive IQ have always been head and shoulders above that of Farmar. It's also pretty obvious that he knows Utah's offense extremely well as he's been making some crazy reads and adjustments that make you think he's got a spy behind Utah's bench.
I'm actually glad that Farmar isn't getting any PT right now.

Kobe is clearly the best and the most complete player in the league. I don't think an argument about "league's best player" is worth 18 pages.

You know it's kinda funny how reminescent this is to 2-3 years ago when Steve Nash was supposedly the best player in the NBA. Dwyane Wade of just 2 years ago. Nash can't dominate games like Paul can, I mean come on are you guys serious like have you ever watch the NBA. I remember just 3 years ago when the guy was like averaging like 40 a game against Dallas with such a better supporting cast than Paul's. And not to mention the year he won his second MVP (54 win) subtracting all-stars like Joe Johnson and Amare Stoudamire, and adding with unproven players like Tim Thomas and Boris Diaw. So you just can't write Nash off the list just yet because he hasn't had the type of season that Paul has had. I mean if it was in his nature to average 21 and 11, he would be able to...but it's not because of how much better his supporting cast is compared to Paul's.

And then Dwyane Wade. I mean this guy was the **** 2 years ago. He supposedly was the next big thing and if it hadn't been for that shoulder injury he suffered a season ago, than we wouldn't even be having to have this conversation right now.

And last Deron Williams. Wasn't he the guy that the Spurs didn't seem to have an answer for after shuting down proven players like Iverson, Nash, and Lebron?? I mean it's all about the supporting cast's. Carlos Boozer a consistent 20-10 guy and all-star like Memhet Okur gives Deron the ability to just play his game and not have to play his hardest for his team to get a victory. I mean for the Hornets to win, Chris Paul HAS to play his hardest. He has to do every single thing like rebound, pass, score, and also log big minutes. So you guys have to look at the little the little things and the advantages that these other players have over Paul.

I mean this bandwaggon thing has seriously gotten out of control. It seems as if every year this has gotten crazyer and crazyer and looks to get evn worse as the years go on. Mark my word on this, in a few years Derek Rose will be the best PG and Paul will be suddenly forgotten about.

BTW, I think that, when healthy of course, Wade is the second best player in the NBA, behind Kobe.

In two years it is going to be someone else, but one thing will stay constant, Kobe.

With all due respect, Kobe Bryant is the best player in the NBA.

He's a better shooter from close, far and in between, a better finisher at the rim, he draws more fouls, commands more double-teams and generally greater attention from opposing coaches, he's a massively better post scorer and post defender, a better weak-side/help defender, a better offensive rebounder, a better defensive rebounder, a more reliable clutch player, and is generally longer, stronger and wiser than Chris Paul.

Paul is better at taking care of and passing the ball, and zipping in to passing lanes and opponents' dribbles for the steal.

This happens every year, somebody plays great for a stretch and then that player has become better then Kobe. Then when we let the emotions subdue after a while, we come back to our senses. BTW, Kobe is also having a sick playoffs so far, perhaps you haven't been watching.

Now that the season is over anyone of these 5...Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Tim Duncan, Chris Paul and Kevin Garnett can make an argument for BEST PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE.

Personally i would take Lebron.
