With Josh Howard's recent pot smoking comments, he's basically made himself untouchable by Jazz management. If Dallas is interested though, I'd certainly be willing to look at something like Booz and Brew for Dirk, though.

Bucks fan here. Sorry if this is the wrong thread.

Bucks are interested in either AK or Boozer. Boozer first, but we would be happy with AK.

Here's what we have that we would consider moving: Mo Williams, Redd, our first (projected #7) and Yi. Bobby Simmons or Gadzuric could be thrown in for contract purposes.

Are you interested in anything we have? What kind of package might you be interested in?

...Not really interested in Redd or Yi. bogut would be intrigueing, but I doubt the Bucks are willing to consider him. Overall, the Jazz and Bucks look like bad trade partners unless a third team gets involved.

I don't think we should move anyone other than Hart, this lineup has a lot of potential, no one on our starting five is under thirty, and we are one of the youngest teams in the nba. Normally young teams don't get to the playoffs. But since I'm seeing that Boozer is "winning" in this pole. what would you want for him? The only likely scenarios I see are were we get Melo, Sammy, or Mags. I personally don't want Melo, and Sammy and Mags don't have the offensive skillset neccisary to make this a really scary team. The only way it works is if we get both.... So here is my proposal if we were to trade Boozer (which we won't)

Utah out:
Boozer
Collins
Hart
Almond
08 1st
08 Phila 2nd

Utah in:
Dalembert
Maggette

LAC out:
Maggette
Brand

LAC in:
Boozer
Carney
Hart
Willy Green
08 UT 1st

Phila out:
Dalembert
Carney
Willy Green

Phila in:
Brand
Collins
Almond
08 Phila 2nd

Jazz are giving up a ton in that trade.

Boozer>>>Dalembert, which is a given.
Hart has negative trade value, and doesn't do anything for this team.
Collins has no trade value, and he doesn't do much for our team anyway.
Almond has little trade value because no one knows what he can do. The
1st isn't worth much unless your desperate for picks, it's low, and doesn't have much likelihood of producing anything. And the second doesn't have much value for this team either.

So....Collins Almond Hart picks << Mags

And trading away your star player you don't often get equal value in return, I think this is about the best bang for your buck you can get. But I wouldn't do it because I think Boozer is still developing, and that his defense, and better body controll will come with time.

Why move anyone? Keep it together and this team will compete every year. Breaking up the team is just a good way to fall out of it. Especially since we probably won't get equal value for any of these guys .

The jazz absolutely can't win a title in its current form.
DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIP.

Yesterday the lakers shot 48.5% on our home floor ! Do you think we can shoot 50% in every playoffs games ? Because that's what we did yesterday and we barely win by 5 points .
This team would have to play INSANE offensive basketball for 16 games to win the playoffs in the coming years. You know what? The Suns tried , it can't be done , in the need you always need more stop than the other team.

Boozer is the trade bait, and just upped his value with this last game. Ak is needed. Memo has played great defense on duncan, Yao, and now Gasol. The league watches offensive players which is why boozer is so high on everyone's wish list. That offense doesn't make up for his defense a la melo, iverson, and so many more we wouldn't want on the jazz. Even though brand shoots at a lower percentage, he gets the rebounds while playing defense. I think an okafur, brand type would do just as well offensively while doing something that boozer can't or won't, play defense.

Wow. I guess this poll is more of an indication of how the Jazz board has been overrun by pre-pubes than anything else.

I don't think the Jazz move any big names next season. It's the following season which is going to be the one.

^ I agree that the year we go and make moves. Plus one more year this team might be the one or two seed in the west!

Detroit trades:
Richard Hamilton + Jason Maxiell + 09 First Round pick

Utah trades:
Carlos Boozer + Ronnie Brewer

Obvious for Detroit. They get a 20 and 10 player and solid young wing player.

I'm not sure how high Utah is on Brewer. Rip is clearly an upgrade but Brewer is a fine young player. Maxiell is the Pistons version of Millsap. The two combined would be a great pair of young PF's who bring energy.

What an absolutely terrible trade for the Jazz.

I can't believe you guys are dumping Boozer for these guys. How many guys put up the numbers Booz does? Millsap is improving but nowhere near the player Booz is.
The Jazz are showing they are as good as anyone in the west and near unbeatable at home. Why would you blow that up with stupid fantasy basketball trades? The only reason to do so is if you think the team has peaked.

PS: Trading Harp and Booz for Dampier and Howard and the Jazz get MUCH softer in a hurry. I won't even touch trading Booz for Maxiell. Then Jerry would have to find someone new to yell "AND 1".
