What will the final draft order be?

Post#1 » by Social Lubrication » Fri May 9, 2008 7:57 pm

Alternate title: How will Stern decide to rig the draft order? ;)

#1 Knicks: Thanks for finally firing Isiah!
#2 Minnesota: Thanks for trading Garnett to the Celtics!
#3 Memphis: Thanks for trading Gasol to the Lakers!
#4 Seattle: Payback for ownership fiasco
#5 Miami: Payback for such a transparent tank-job

I'm predicting that someone unexpected is going to move up into the top 3 . Not sure who but one lucky team from 6-10 will move into the top 3 count on it.

I had a dream last night that the Knicks were picking 6th (and Walsh took Anthony Randolph) but I like your theory a whole lot better.

I hope you realize that the top three spots are only up for grabs. That means the Heat can't fall past the fourth spot.

My prediction:
1. LA Clippers
2. Miami Heat
3. New York Knicks

1) Minny
2) NY
3) Mia

Giving NY the 1st pick is too obvious, so Stern gives them the #2 pick in a draft with a clear top 2.

 I will love David Stern forever. :D Pipe dream though, but I can hope. I would think NY is going to get the 1st pick, they have a bad enough situation already, no one will think a thing about rigging.

I'm predicting the top 3 will be western conference teams.

1. Portland
2. Golden State
3. NY

Then the league switches to best 16 teams get in the playoffs.

That would be the funniest thing ever for miami... seeing as they can only drop to #4...

If it were to be decided by David Stern with the public still thinking it was done by the typical lottery...

#1: Miami - You shut up all the critics from last year about how none of the three teams with the best chance even get in the top three, by giving the worst team the first pick.
#2: New York - Hey, they still get Rose likely, without all the inevitable conspiracy witchhunts since they didn't end up getting him through the first pick.
#3: LA Clippers - Even if they share it with the Lakers, LA's still a huge market and either keeping Mayo in California or getting them Bayless would be a decent story.

This has been my predicted order for a while now.

Based off of who I think deserves it, and reality

1. LAC - Been trying, plagued with injuries, bad luck
2. Seattle - Tried
3. Charlotte
4. Miami - No Tanking
5. Minn
6. Memphis - This is what you get for being (Please Use More Appropriate Word)
7. NYK - This is what you get for trying to tank so hard
8. Mil

???????????????????

Are you insane?

Miami was so obviously tanking that they could have supplied the US Army in Iraq and still had a fleet of tanks left over for themselves.

And if the Knicks were tanking someone forgot to tell them that actually meant not winning a string of critical games down the stretch that moved them from a possible 2nd worst record to a tie for the 5th worst record.

Yeah, I hope Miami gets screwed. Nothing personal, but they were a joke this year. I don't want Seattle to get it (because of the ownership fiasco), I don't want Minnesota to get it (because they bungled the KG trade), I don't want Memphis to get it (the Gasol trade was a joke), so... the Kings?

The Knicks winning the lottery would be terrible.

What an atrocious fit for Beasley.

Umm, I meant Mia should get screwed because of them tanking

New York did try to tank and you know it. Plus one of the worst organizations in the league.

Clippers deserve the 1st pick

Bobcats deserve a top 3

Miami/Memphis/Seattle (Forgot about arena)/NYK/Minn all don't deserve a top pick.

How about

LAC/Sac/Cha? :D

LAC/Cha/Ind/NJ/Sac all deserve a top pick more than mia/mem/sea/nyk/minn

Everybody predicting the Clippers getting the first pick are my friends. Without jinxing my own team (not like it matters b/c the Clippers are jinxed anyway) my prediction is...

1. Minnesota
2. Miami
3. Memphis

The 3 M's
