Its a gamble, but this could be our chance to add some youth to our team. If we traded Paul for Melo and signed Lebron when his contract was up this could be our starting five.

Perkins
KG
Melo
Lebron
Rondo

It would certainly add height to the starting five.

With Denver one thing to consider is Karl's history. He tends to do great things with teams and then as they tire of him hey crash and burn. Usually with acronimy between him and his players. Usually with him intentionally leaking bad stuff about players to the media.

I wouldn't trade Paul for Carmello just because it isn't a clear upgrade for someone who really has been the heart and soul of the Celtics for years. But he certainly is a player who might thrive in a new environment.

Didn't we trade the Chief? Props to PP but if an occasion like that comes you have to pick it up... Melo already is one of the best scoring SFs in the L and he's 8 years younger than Paul. He got alot of potential also.

Regardless of that Ray and Garnett don't have 8 years. Ray may only have 2.

Melo' is going nowwhere. Come on guys, this is Melo' were talking about here. Guy is 24 and a franchise player above your normal tier quality at that of franchise players.

That said Pierce wasn't known for not having defense untill his fourth or fifth year and that was only because of the drop in it from his first few years. Melo is just in his fourth year right now.

im as big a 'melo fan as there is, but i dont think hes anywhere near pierce defensively

if melo had more of a sense of when to do what, between his hsooting and post ability, he would be one of the top offensive players in the game.

he could play more defense, and he could play at 100% effort all the time, and hed be all-nba material every year. you can tell he plays a "lazy" style because sometimes he pulls moves that surprise you with his athleticism and explosion, because you dont see it consistently

I do agree that Paul Pierce is a much better defender then Melo. But Anthony's got many more years left. Plus we've got young pieces that will be around when KG retires that he can play with.

Also who knows who else we can sign to a long term deal while KG and Melo are still on the team together. Lebron James might see Boston as the perfect place to go to because its a big market and unlike New York they have a winning team.

i dont think i said anything suggesting im on crack...

as for a potential melo-bron connection, its unlikely but dont sleep on it

theyve been boys for a long time now, and would love to play together. all a teams needs is a location they both like and cap space aplenty, put the two together and you could even fill the roster out with guys like wally and boobie and be a serious contender, lol

What are you talking about??????

Bruno. This is another example of a stupid post by you. You have no idea what you are talking about.

I would love to know this is stupid. They have identical games. Small forwards who can shoot but they primarily use their bodies to get to the basket. They don't get there with blazing speed. They do it with strength.

So please show me how their games differ at all. I would love to see it.
