Why are you happy? The guy coaches 50% of the game. Dumb hiring.

I give him 2 seasons, dumb decision but he`ll be making 24 million so he`ll be happy with that.

With the Knicks offensive talent, he should be able to get them a little lower than 24th in offensive efficiency.

Not sure if he's worth as much money as they're shelling out, though.

Jeff Van Gundy would have been awesome back in New York (not that he's interested in coaching next season).

The Knicks have like the worst possible group of players to suit the coaching style of D'Antoni. The Bulls job would've been perfect since they were already an excellent defensive team that just needed a coach to help them with offense. And also the Bulls have a great group of players to play D'Antoni's style--athletic big men like Noah and Thomas, and players who are athletic and can shoot like Gordon and Deng. All they needed was a new point guard who could push the fast break. The Knicks would need a huge roster change to find players to suit D'Antoni's style, which will be hard since no one will want to trade for any of their players.

I really don't like the fit (think they need to shell out their team and go more defensive minded), but I understand why D'Antoni did it ($$$). It'll be interesting to see what he does with the team though, especially Marbury if he stays.

Knick thinking: Who's the biggest name coach available? Let's through money at him.

D'Antoni thinking: Phoenix is getting old, better cash in while my reputation's good.

Curry/Randolph aren't going to get any playing time.

if it's between Z-Ro and McCurry, then McCurry is good as gone.

imo David Lee is a guy who 'Antoni would like, a big man who can run, handle, and pass the ball.

Eddy Curry and Zack Randolph playing in an uptempo system, I don't like the fit. I thought Mark Jackson was a more logical candidate.
