Briggs-5 teams interested 4 days till draft!

Do we trade him, keep him, is he good, is he product of the system?

Myself, I think he's really good, buuuuuuuuuuuuut............ He won't be as good for another team. The system here DOES help him, as well as the players he plays with.

Myself, I make the skins trade. Then trade down with a team really wanting the 6 pick. We can get say, a 12-17 pick, another second and maybe a 3rd or 4th as well. We can take best player available and not have to pay that 20 million bonus at the 6 spot, and get our LB replacement in the second round with our 2 high second round picks.

Bring in the #6 pick.
Briggs is unhappy and we need to get rid of him.
Bring in a good young player and it will make up for it.

Plus if they make that trade I will go to Bears headquarters on draft day. I saw an Ad for it in the Sun Times and am interested only if they make this deal.

I agree completely. They need to trade him. He already said he will never play for Chicago again, so why not get a top 10 draft pick for him. Trade the pick, in the 12-17 range and pick up Landry, then use the second rounder on a linebacker.

With that being said, I doubt there will be any moves made until close to draft day

Another one for the 6th pick.

I would like to keep him, I think he's a vital part of the defense, but he's already made a bad repuation for the Bears' organization, so I think it's best if he get shipped out -- a situation where both parties would be happy. I wouldn't give him the max contract.

Having the 6th pick would give them a chance at a young and talented prospect, or even a chance to trade down and get an already proven player.

I'd like the sixth only if it produced Calvin Johnson or Joe Thomas which it won't. And I also don't really want to give up the 31st because then we don't gain any extra picks, just moved up.

Wasn't there a rumor about us getting 24 and 27 for Briggs and 37?

No, can't take Quinn. This team is ready to win now, we don't have 3 more years to develope quinn. We need to trade down and get that TE.

Obviously but not a chance that happens.

His stock has gone nowhere but up, and with teams like Oakland, and Tampa with quarterback problems this past year, theres no way they pass on him if he is available.

Although we might not need Quinn, he is a very good prospect for trade bait.

But if Russel is avaliable (which there is about a 1% shot he will be) I would defiantly take that kid.
He is going to be a star.

Drew Rosenhouse is the reason Briggs wants out.
We will not take him.

If Briggsy hadn't come out and said all that crap about 'never playing for the Bears ever again', I'd probably lean more towards him staying. But really, he's said everything he can to distance himself from the Bears, so I say bring on pick 6!

Harris has the same agent, and you know he's going to get a deal, and nothing negative will come of it. It's the player not the agent at this point.

I'll vote "bring in the #6" just because I'd like to see him traded. However, I think the 6 slot is just a horrible place to be sitting in this draft.

I'm not a huge fan of just getting a pick swap for Briggs, so I'm a little conflicted on this trade. If it was the #6 straight up, I'd be sold. I'd be a lot closer if it was Briggs, plus a Bears late round pick for the #6. I just think it's too much to give up the first rounder and Briggs for the #6 pick in a 5 man draft.

GM: Briggs Unlikely To Get Long Term-Deal
http://www.realgmfootball.com/src_wiret ... term_deal/
NFL.com - The standoff between Lance Briggs and the Chicago Bears took another turn when general manager Jerry Angelo said he wants the Pro Bowl linebacker to return next season but a multiyear contract is unlikely.

"I'm not ruling it out 100 percent, but in all probability, that's not likely to happen," Angelo said during the team's fan convention.

The Bears and Briggs have been at odds since the team slapped the franchise player tag on him in mid-February.

Briggs threatened to sit out the season, then agent Drew Rosenhaus said his client would sit out the first 10 games and report for the final six to qualify as serving one year as a franchise player.

Meanwhile, the Washington Redskins offered the sixth pick in the draft for Briggs and the Redskins' No. 31 selection.

"We'll digest what they offered Monday and we'll go from there," Angelo said, adding no other team has made an offer.

The Bears would likely have to pay the No. 6 pick a $15 million to $20 million bonus, although they could package the pick in another trade.

Chicago Unhappy With Washington Going Public With Briggs Trade Rumor

Boston Globe - The Bears weren't enamored with the Redskins' tactics last week, with Washington going public with its trade offer for disgruntled linebacker Lance Briggs before presenting the offer formally to Chicago.
