Bash me all you want on this one, but this is something i think would help us a lot (hopefully its something realistic, too...)
1) Let B. Diddy opt out for FA OR trade him (along with Big Al and a few re-signed players [POB, Barnes, Croshere, and/or Pietrus] and our 2009 2nd round pick)to get Jose Calderon, Kris Humphries, Anthony Parker, and Carlos Delfino
WHY it works for both teams:
RAPTORS: Allows Jamario Moon to play more 2 or 3 (Same goes with Big Al), B. Diddy will be THE MAN and work the pick-and-roll with Bosh (hopefully TJ Ford will get to play more minutes to compensate for B. Diddy's injury history), and POB and Pietrus will probably play more under their system (and flourish) in a new scene/environment. And Barnes can be the usual energy guy off bench.
WARRIORS: Calderon will do nothing but be the "first-pass" PG. Humphries will add some muscle for rebounding with his frame (not too sure how good he'll be, but worth the shot). Parker and Delfino will do what they do, but better here under Nellie (hopefully).
2) Draft either JaVale McGee (from Nevada), DeAndre Jordan (its a long shot...), or Kevin Love (UCLA) in the first round.
WHY: We seriously need a defensive stalewart NOW (not too sure about Love though, but he can play the low-post offensively well)! I hate to see none of the players play aggressively for loose balls or getting rebounds. These guys are legit PF and C. All have tremendous upside (Although they need to develop/mature more, they have great potential).
What do you guys think?

For 1 - I don't see Calderon and Ellis working well together. It's a defensive disaster. Ellis is a pg. Having another starting quality pg is a luxury that only works if they can defend opposing sg's. If Baron is traded the Warriors should look for a SG who is a good secondary ballhandler (the role that guys like Prince or Manu play for Detroit or SA).
For 2 - I don't see any rookie being a big defensive difference maker. McGee was abused by WAC opponents, he's a very long ways from slowing down NBA players. Jordon wasn't good enough to get on the court.
Love is much better overall, but isn't a defensive force (although he's a great rebounder which would help), and is young enough that he won't be a big factor as a rookie either.

Caulderon doesn't play defense. Pretty much having Ellis and another PG in the backcourt spells disaster, but with Jose even more so. I'd like us to do what GSW said and add some rebounding. However, it has to be cheap, maybe through the draft. Add some young, athletic guys and let them tag along with the Baron Davis show for its one final go around. Make sure Monta and Beans are signed longterm. Don't do anything stupid.

I'm gonna have to disagree with those who don't like the 1st option on everything you guys think about Calderon.
He's definitely the guy we need: passes-first (8.3 apg;looks for open players and doesn't take questionable shots selections), he CAN defend if you guys been watching him (1.1 spg, which isn't much compared to B. Diddy's 2.33 spg. But, it'll improve because of his quick lateral movement), can shoot the ball (FG%: 51.9%; FT%: 90.8%; other words: better stats than B. Diddy), and he's relatively still kind of young (26 y/o; in the league for 3 years now),
So, my question is to you guys: are we willing to bank on B. Diddy when you know this guy is at his peak, and potentially can get hurt even more cuz of that?. He's basically trying to make us crap in our pants by demanding more money, leaning toward opting out for FA. I think you guys are just too amazed by his ball-handling skills (or too amazed by bringing in "Hollywood" into the Oracle?), but he can't really finish those layups and isn't the most purest shooters, obviously on a nightly basis.
So, there's my argument for now. I will add more if any of you want to say more. Don't take it literally, guys. It's fun to debate and back up your points. I just don't see Baron, as good as he is posting up smaller players and making wild shots/plays, we need a guy who can stick to one thing and rarely do intangible/unusual things. Get rid of B. Diddy by not signing him to a long-term deal or S&T him. PERIOD.
