That's great you point this out.

Now I'm going to point out something else.

Neither KG or Ray Allen play alone.

and last but not least Pierce is 6-16....

so the BIG 3 combined in there careers are 16-57.....a whopping .280 win percentage....

we better win EVERY home game if we want #17

What I mean is none of the Big 3 play against teams by themselves.

In the past they've lost because they haven't been on good teams.

Do you know how hard it is to win on the road in the regular season?

It's extremely hard.

And in the playoffs its 10x harder!

This C's team haven't played well on the road and it starts at the defensive end.

We can't stop Wally Z?

Come on.

As grant pointed out, Garnett (or any of the Big 3) has rarely been favored in any of his series and it's tough enough to win on the road in the playoffs when you are favored. This stat is meaningless.

Garnett is also averaging 22.75 points per game on 51.4% shooting from the field, 76% from the line, 8.75 boards, 3 assists per game, 2.5 steals with a block. I could see bringing up the stat if there was evidence to support it had anything to do with poor play by him, but he's been our best player on the road BY FAR.

His road record in the playoffs for teams that weren't very good means about as much as all those stats showing teams who had ridiculously good records vs. the Celtics over the past few years (Bulls, Spurs, etc.) only to be swept by the far different Celtics team in their season series' vs. them this year.

Holycrap, is that true bigal534? Thanks for the info. How is that possible? We need to bring in a hypnotist to make the C's believe they are playing at home all the time.

KG's 5-23 record is actually a .179 winning %.

But the point might not be that the previous playoff loss records are the Big 3's fault so much as that that prior experience of repeated failure despite their best efforts, in loud and hostile arenas, with hostile officiating, might be part of the Big 3's having had 'bad experience' in the playoffs.

It's the same reason Tiger Woods was so outspoken in recommending that Michelle Wie stick to youth tournaments that she could win, rather than PGA tournaments she was lost in, while she was a teenager.

We've been so focused on having good players with experience, and specifically playoff experience, that we may have overlooked just how overwhelmingly negative their experiences have been in playoff games on the road. Just maybe, the C's collecting up all of that concentrated playoff road failure among our key players is coming back to bite them now. Perhaps years and years of getting smoked in that particular situation is handicapping the team now. (And perhaps similarly so for Doc as well.)

ummm...do u not realize that KG is really the only one of the big three who has done ANYTHING so far?

there's always gonna be someone blaming KG for something. its all KG's fault...blah blah blah.

its like the 8th wonder of the world as to why we're so dominate at home, yet suck on the road in the playoffs.

well if u actually read what id wrote...my point was that as a team being lead by our BIG 3, they do not have a good history of winning on the road...in fact they have a terrible history or winning on the road...end of story..

Considering we are close to being eliminated from the playoffs, the offseason is just around the corner. In your opinion, bigal534, who should we trade Garnett (that sad excuse of a player) for?
