NOOOO MEERS PULLS A GUARANSHEEEEEEEED

The Detroit Free Press -
Coming off a heartbreaking 90-89 loss at home against the Pistons, Magic guard Jameer Nelson has guaranteed a victory in Game Five on Tuesday, according to The Detroit Free Press.

"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."

Jameer's coment doesn't strike me as much as Rashard's did. Lewis sais that he believes ae are the better team. That is confidence. Jameer might have a little chip n his shoulder.

If he would have made both of his Free throws at the end, The magic may have gone to overtime with the Pistons. Nelson only shot 2-6 from the line and missed two critical free throws during the 15-0 run when we were still up by 5.

He needs to make a guarantee for himself and for his team which he has chose to lead. The Magic are showing impressive pride, they do feel they can compete and that the recent performances do not reflect on the teams full ability.

I have confidence Game 5 will test us, and we will pass it.

Who cares?

They can talk with all the confidence they want, but until the Magic stop playing like they're scared of the Pistons they'll never beat them.

Every guarentee that we've ever pulled has ended in failure....

And I thought the Pistons might have been set up for a letdown game.....not anymore.

Did I miss something? Where does he "guarantee" a win?

It just says that we are going to go out there and win.

Is he supposed to say we are going to go out there and lose?

I'm not doing back flips over Rashard's comments, but there's really not much to see here.

If I'm a member of the Pistons, I take this as IGNORANCE coming from a team of wannabes. If I'm Billups and I play game 5, I do everything in my power to PUNISH Nelson on every single possession. I make him REALIZE he isn't squat and he never will be against the Pistons. I make him pay for trying to play in the NBA at only 5'10, I make him pay for running his mouth by ABUSING HIM every opportunity in the game, I make him go and run and cry to his mama.

Good for those guys. They are right too. I guarantee a win, now what! I'll be wearing every lucky piece of clothing I got, and I will stake that luck on this outcome.

its over now...

anytime a player guarantees a win its all over, it means a loss...i mean i like the confidence and all but keep it out of the media already, someone please name a time a player made a guarantee and it came true...

Rasheed Wallace has gotten away with it TWICE I believe, but it's backfired on him as well.

Wiretap states he guarantees a win; but that's just a bad misinterpretation by whoever put it up there.

To guarantee a win in sports is just stupid IMO, for more than one reason. You make yourself look like an idiot because you can never actually guarantee a win, because if you could why would you even play the game? Then you rile up your opponent as well, probably doesn't help the cause. If you stated in the press you guaranteed a win, and during the game you get the feeling it's not going to work, it'll influence you as well (sports psychology).

Glad Jameer didn't actually guarantee a win like wiretap states, but he comes pretty close. Be careful on thin ice Jameer!

troll alert.
I would have the Magic read posts like this that would set them up nicely and beat your pistons in game 5, 6, and 7.

Go Magic!!

That's not really a guarantee, but it will keep Detroit away from a letdown.

I REALLY like Rashard's quote actually and shows the team isn't down in the dumps yet.

That's hardly what I would call a GUARANSHEED. Maybe a guarantee, but not a guaransheed. Two entirely different things. But Jam was just saying the right things. You can't expect him to say the team is going to lose.

Seriously, this is what I love about Jameer. The kid is tough as nails. This is shaping up to be a win for the century if they pull it off because it could be a slap in the face for Detroit. Get game six at home and then I'd actually put my money where my mouth is and pick the Magic in game 7.

The Pistons did this to us and then won the title and dominated the east since. How beautifully ironic would it be if in this situation we turn the tables, break the Pistons spirits, and set ourselves up for a decade of domination! Meer to the rescue, go Magic! (BTW to the poster that dogged Meer, when you've got superman covering your back you can bark as loud as you want. Just remember that when Billups hobbles off the court after trying to keep up with Nelson. Pistons are a bunch of old washed up pussies.)

Yep, I love my little friend in Jameer too.

If we can't win this series I fully believe we can take this to Game 7.

But I still Believe that we can win this series!
