Official "Introduce Yourself" Thread

Post#1 » by miller31time » Sun Apr 1, 2007 9:59 pm

This thread is dedicated to finding out a little bit more about the posters who are going to be 'regulars' on this forum. Post anything about yourself you would like to be known. And make sure to include your history as a Ravens fan (or if you go way back - Baltimore Colts fan).

I'll start us off...

My name is Alex and I'm from Baltimore, Maryland. I'm 18 years old and am attending Towson University (Towson, MD), majoring in mass communication, with a focus in sports broadcasting. I'm a huge basketball/football/baseball fan, and an improving stat-junkie. I started following the Ravens, seriously, in our 2001 Superbowl season, and have been addicted ever since. Currently, my favorite player on the Ravens is Bart Scott, because he is a hard-nosed defensive player, and class act.

But enough about me...

Okay, I am Nurbek, originally from Kyrgyzstan, but repping East Baltimore. I am 19 years old and I am currently attending University of Illinois, majoring in biochemistry. I used to be an obsessed basketball fan crazed over stats, how to defend pick and roll and how TMac is better than Kobe (way back in a day). I've been following football since Ravens SB and am one of the few foreigners who know what cover 2 and west coast offense are. I am attracted to the strategic side of the game, so my favorite player is (unfortunately) a Colt, Peyton Manning, the ultimate student of the game.
First the federal government borrowed money; then gave the money to Bank of America; then I borrowed some of that money from Bank of America and gave it to the federal government; then the federal government gave the money back to Bank of America.

I always loved Shannon Sharpe, and Rod Woodson so when they were on the team I started to like them. As the season progressed I liked them more and more. Ever since then I have followed them.

I am soooooooo happy that Jamal is gone.

I suppose I should add that I am from Wisconsin, and a huge Bucks fan.

I do like the packers, but I was never a die hard fan because I live in south eastern Wi and have never been to a game. Football is the only sports were I am a sports bigamist.

My name is Kumar and I'm 18. I'm from Portland, Oregon but am currently a freshman at St. Martins University in Lacey, Washington. I'm majoring in International Business, but may change that soon. I'm a huge sports fan, and I like all of the non-Winter Olympics sports. My favorite Ravens player was Will Demps before he went to the Giants and now my favorite players are Haloti Ngata and Demetrius Williams, two University of Oregon alumni. I've been a Ravens fan ever since they moved to Baltimore. It kinda became natural because I've always been an Orioles fan.

Im from Cali, and im a Niners fan. But outside of my own city, I love watching and following the Ravens. Ever since Jamal Lewis gave me 2000 rushing yards on fantasy I followed them and used them in Madden. My favorite safety/ one of my favorite players is Ed Reed. But yeah anyway, I'll be posting here from time to time.

My name is Marcus. I'm 21 years old and live in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. I've been a Ravens fan since they moved to Baltimore in 1996. I'm also a fan of the Wizards and Orioles. I post at the IGN boards and Ravens Scout INC.

I'm Paul. Not a Ravens fan Just a Steve McNair fan. So as long as Air McNair remains a Raven. Look for me to be here on occasion. That plus to see will Troy Smith will amount to anything to shut his critics up.

My name is Sean. Born and raised in California. I'm 38 and am a late bloomer to football. I always played basketball in school. I am a Lakers fan... who wouldn't be growing up in California watching those great Laker teams? Anyway, I was a Raiders fan when Marcus and Bo were here, but was never gung ho about football as I am now. They moved out and I had no team until I saw the Ravens win the superbowl. I jumped on the bandwagon and have been a fan ever since. I just didn't appreciate it enough or understand all that was involved with it and now I respect football more than any other sport. My respect was born with the Ravens.

Watching a team dominate from the defensive side of the ball and running the ball keeping the defense rested and killing the opposing defense with run after run is my kind of football. Which is what the Ravens play. I bought Direct TV just for the Ravens. I also respect franchises and how they are run and the Ravens are a top shelf organzation. There is so much involved with a NFL team vs a NBA team. Just really impressed with the Ravens. I'm currently reading Feinsteins book based around the Ravens Next Man Up. Go Ravens.

I bet Ozzie's phone will be ringing off the hook when everyone finds out that Samari Rolle and Kyle Boller are available

I bet 49ers will give up a 7th rounder for Rolle to boost up the WR core's self esteem during practice.

i'm the second ravens fan from the bucks board and wisconsin. i used to be a huge michael irvin fan and then didn't really have a team. i started getting more into football the same year the team became the ravens and i loved the name and i've been a huge fan since.

the ravens are the only one of my 3 favorite teams (bucks, brewers) to have a made it to a championship game/series in my lifetime.

favorite player is ed reed, i'm a big fan of any defensive back

and since i'm from wisconsin i want to add that the while watching the team i love win the superbowl was amazing, nothing was more fun than the 48-3 victory over the packers a few years ago
