Gotta give it up to LO. He has been aggressive going to the basket and finishing the way his talent suggests. I have no complaints about him. Lakers should find a way to resign him if he can continue to play like this.

Well to be nit picky he could improve his FT shooting.....
I'm so tired of the typical......

With Odom's talent, you expect him to be somewhere near 20/10/5 every game...but he isn't and never will be.

he out played Marion the past 2 seasons...then he outplayed Melo in the 1st round..now hes outplaying Carlos Boozer...and his statistics in the 2nd round are better than Dwight Howards.

Is that not good enough?

He needs to make his free throws. At least 70% of them, I'd be happy with that.

Like I said, Odom has the talent to do it. Look at his rebounding and assist numbers. He's practically there. It's just his lack of aggression holding him back. He's a great #3 option but falls way short in a larger role. You can't change your nature.

if the league IQ wasn't so low he'd be a marginal player. all a defender needs to do to stop him is force him to go right, yet nobody does it. It's like rocket science to them... I was laughing my ass off watching today's game as Odom repeatedly blew by the Jazz defenders going left. What kind of education did Boozer get at Duke anyway ? :noway:

Gionobli does the same thing and nobody stops him either 1 on 1.

If Lamar Odom averaged 20+ a game and the same stats in all other categories that he already has then he would be considered great. The fact that he doesn't score 20+ a game makes him out to be considered an underacheiver to the majority of Laker fans, especially the Laker fans on this site.

Personally, I feel that though he's underrated, but I guess i'm bias since he's been my favorite player in the league since he left Rhode Island. The fact remains if he averaged just 5 more points a game, we would not be having this conversation.

Maybe, but you can say that about a lot of players. 5 points isn't some pittance, its the difference between Melo and Steven Jackson, or between KG and Nocioni. The fact is Lamar Odom doesn't score 5 more points, he scores 14 a game, which is nice for a third option, which is what he is.

I think people overestimate his offensive abilities though. Odom doesn't have a jump shot, and his post game is only passable for a PF. He scores off garbage points and his patented left-handed layup. He isn't capable of scoring 20 a game over the course of a season.

He's the most consistent player on the team, if Kobe isn't shooting good he's not gonna make up for it with boards, blocks, and assists but Odom will

In game 3 vs. Utah Odom was invisible, he only took 3 shots...WTF?

In game 4 he was the best player on the floor behind only Kobe and DWill.

I think calling him inconsistent is a very fair comment, you never know which LO will show up.

in game 3 lamar had 13 pts and 12 rebs. he's averaging 15/10 in the playoffs. i don't see anything terribly unusual about that.
