Who cares if Redd does not solve our PG problems? At least he solves another problem, the other position that makes up the backcourt.
Having a four of Redd, Thornton, Brand, and Kaman would make us pursue a PG come draft day (if we try to trade up) or free agency. We'd be looking pretty damn good, too.

Unfortunately Redd doesn't solve the Clippers need for a dominant backcourt player to team with Brand. Redd is due to make 15.8, 17 and 18.3 (player option) over the next 3 seasons. I don't see Redd as a top 15 player in the league to justify that type of salary. The Clippers would be willing to pay that kind of money for a healthy Arenas but they sure wouldn't for Redd. His production is around what Maggette provided last year, 22.7 ppg, 36% on 3, 130 3 pointers made.
Giving up Mobley and Thomas and the #6 pick gives up the majority of the Clipper 3 point shooting, although both had off years last season. I'd rather keep both and use the pick on an outside shooter given that both Mobley and Thomas have only 2 years left on their contracts versus 3 for Redd.
