Would we be any better if we had Darko?

Post#1 » by J-Mezzy » Mon May 12, 2008 11:30 pm

Darko was a decent rebounder and shot blocker and had also a better than average jumper for a big man. So there lies the question, would we or would we not be in a better position if we had Darko

Add Darko to this roster = we would be better.
Resign Darko but not sign Lewis = we would not be in the second round.

Considering he is far superior to Foyle, of course we would be better with him right now especially since Battie is out

We need another quality big next to dwight

Darko is the kind of player we need right now regardless of how is has done in Memphis...But obviously Rashard is much better

Losing Darko definetly set us back though, because we ended up losing out on Darko and Stuckey

We'd definitely be better if we had Darko added to this current roster. The guy is a bit of a goofball, but he would have been a decent complement to Dwight. A guy who can block/alter shots, rebound, and take his man away from the rim is what we eventually need starting at pf. I think he could have grown into that role very nicely if he kept his priorities straight. He isn't worth keeping over Lewis however, which would mean Hedo probably would have been the cap casualty. Not sure if we would have had the same amount of success in the short run, but its probably what the team is going to have to look like to contend for a championship eventually. If we can get a sg to go along with a piece like that, one who can defend and has some handles, we would be in a much better position imo, with a more balanced team to match up well against anyone else in the league. Right now, we have our mis-match advantages, but unfortunately we have a lot against too. Its a tough call. I like this team, its fun to watch, but I have my doubts at times.

Darko couldn't get himself in shape to play for more than 25 minutes when he was here in Brian Hill's system. You think he could play a running game? I sure don't think SVG would be able to put up with his attitude.

Hilarious.
