Kevin Garnett and Bill Russell Feature

Post#1 » by Troubadour » Mon May 12, 2008 8:29 pm

http://sports.espn.go.com/broadband/vid ... 8&n8pe6c=2

If that's not the best link, search: "Passing The Torch: Garnett Sits Down With Russell."

This was a great moment for me, as an NBA fan. Just to see one of the all-time greats sit down and deliver such a positive and inspiring message was really moving for me. This made like the Celtics even more than I do now, and I'm a Raptors fan!

Sorry if this has already been posted, I just thought it was really cool.

It really got me when Russell said
"IF you keep playing the way you are you're gonna win 2 or 3 rings. But if you don't I'll share one of mine with you,"

Personally, I chuckled at that. I got this picture of KG intensely searching eBay for an auction on a NBA championship ring to buy so that he could share a ring even if he never earns one.

That was quite corny, although if I was a Celtic fan I might of liked it.

I wonder if that music is playing whenever Bill Russell talks to other people

Great moment, although if I were KG I'd give back two or three rings if that meant I didn't have to listen to Bill Russell laugh.

I got the vibe that KG felt awkward or uncomfortable during the segment.

Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:

"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."
