This story, more than anything, tells me that this series is over. The Magic players are ok with losing to Detroit. They are happy to have advanced to the second round. They feel its all that was expected of them and are content with their season.

If the game 4 loss didn't really bother them then its over.

And if Rashard has that mentality then its over for the Magic after paying this guy $118 million.

I'd agree with you but if you notice there really wasn't a quote or anything. If its accurate then its not a good thing but Perhaps players do pick up fan expectations and getting 6-15 mil a year would ease a whole lot of pain.

Well, the point I'm really trying to make is that WE care too much, I'll be the first to admit that. Not really saying that they don't care enough, I can't know that for sure and I don't want this to hurt your guys opinion of these players because they just don't wear their emotions on their sleeves, I know that they do care.

Professional athletes need to have short memory loss after bad plays/outings.

Like a pitcher who just gave up a homerun.
Like a QB who threw an int.
Like a goalie who let one get by him.

If they continually dwell on the negative aspects of their game, they won't get past it. Plus if they continually dwell on the loss, they may lose their confidence going into the next game.

Whereas we fans have no control of the next game, so it doesn't mean bubcus if we continue dwell on the last outcome. The next game will go about the same way if we're upset or happy about the outcome.

Our players were devastated after game four. I saw them leave the floor, and I listened to the radio on my way home from the game. They kept talking about getting interviews with some of the players. The players refused. That's unusual even after a bad loss. If they were brooding about it the next day, they would really be in bad shape. As Jameer said, by then they should have moved on to the adjustments they have to make to win the next. Only fans can continue to brood.

Totally agree. Yea, they have to be able to move on, on the other hand we fans don't have to move on because no one will force us too.

Exactly. Same thing applies to success. If you dwell on success then you lose your motivation & focus for the next time. As professionals they have to be able to mentally move on.
