I predicted that there will NOT be a strike in the NBA this year.

Yes, I know, I should go to Vegas.

i picked 13 out of 16 playoff teams including all the teams out west (though they were way out of order)

i dont have a team i predicted in the finals still in the playoffs. stupidly i picked the bulls b/c some people were picking them and b/c i felt like being a homer picking the mavs

I picked the lakers for 55 wins.

i guess thats what i get for being a buss loving, mitch sucking, bynum nuthugger, kobe hater.

some idiot at a laker forum said basically that exact thing to me when i said that laker team as it was constructed during the summer would win more than 35 games.

Right

- Denver hasn't improved notably on defense (pre-season comments about being better, and then with significant defensive focus from the team in camp). Sure, there have been certain games where the defense has been above-average. But that isn't meaningful with the collective defensive situation of the team on the season.

- The Suns group strength of 3PT shooting decreasing even more from what it was previous seasons, this beginning suttlely in 06-07. Then unexpectedly lessened even more with the Shaq trade (surprising trade).

- The Raptors would have a drop off

- Ron Artest would not be traded

- Mike Bibby would be traded

- The Rockets having too much guard depth (coming into season)

- Celtics three weren't "too old".

- The Celtics defense would be a stand-out - however, I didn't think it'd be as good as it was.

- Boston trio would work very well.

- Paul Pierce isn't a mediocre defensive player. Always has had the ability, it's just been about what his role is and how much he can commit.

- The Celtics didn't lack a supporting cast around KG/Ray/Pierce. Mainly relating to the play of Kendrick Perkins (people calling this guy a "scrub" just didn't/don't know about his ability and overlooked what his role would be), Leon Powe (whenever this guy has gotten time, he's produced, and has had some good games too), Tony Allen (for a little while before he hurt his back).

Wrong

- Nets would be a contender, deep playoff team
- Grizzlies would be playoff contender
- Portland would be irrelevant
- Lakers would be a low playoff team
- New Orleans would be a 6th/7th seed team if healthy
- Bulls would be a top team in the east, respectable chance for ECF
- Kobe would be dealt

Right:

I predicted the Raptors would slip
I predicted the nets would miss the playoffs
I predicted Miami would slip, possibly miss the playoffs & that Orlando would win the division

Wrong:

I predicted the Knicks would make the playoffs
(I predicted the Knicks would have a better record than the Celtics, but that was prior to the KG trade so it doesn't really count)
I predicted that Portland would suck and add a top 5 pick to play with Oden.
Go Knicks!! Go Mets!!

As for the Jets . . . just keep it entertaining.

Interesting topic. Fortunately I forget most of my predictions ;)

RIGHT:
The Bucks would be terrible, even in the East.
The Kings would end up in the lotto again.
The Nuggets would be a paper tiger.

WRONG:
"LMAO at the Celtics adding 2 superstars without trading Pierce." (That's a direct quote from this site :D )
The Hawks would never, ever, ever trade expirings for Mike Bibby.
My beloved Jazz would take a step back.
Miami, while not a title contender, was still to be feared.

DEPENDS HOW YOU LOOK AT IT:
The Rockets would be unstoppable. For 22 games, I was right ;)

Rockets first round bane stays alive
Denver's succumbs to lack of D

WRONG
Curry/Randolph works
Blazers struggle to win 15 games
Celtics reach the Finals in 15 or less games

DEPENDS
Yi will not be a star in MIL
Celtics have no bench

Garnett DPOY
Hornets win 50+
Durant ROY
Chris Paul is best PG in league

Wrongs:

Heat...
Atlanta wouldn't steal a game

Hmm, what else...That's all I got for now.

Deeper, more talented, better defensively, better offensively, more experienced.

Nets, Boston, Chicago, Washington, Miami (w/ healthy Shaq, Wade), Detroit, Cleveland (defense, better front-court) are all superior basketball teams.

They're a 7th, 8th seed.

^^

Well, I think you can be better about bringing it up than that (with your response), but yeah, with how things were at the time, that's what I thought. Obviously things went different ultimately, and I was off.

Also, with the Nets, I already alluded to myself being wrong about them as a good team three months ago (and re-posted in this thread).

Black Jesus isn't even on the board anymore, so posting that about him with no possibility of a response coming, and behind his back, is pointless and childish.

On Andrew Bynum's statistics for this season:

That Nicka wrote:13/8/2.2blk

That Nicka wrote:I predict around 48-52 wins if everyone stays healthy... I cant see us getting hom court advantage with this team though unless one of the Spurs/Mavs/Suns/Rockets are devastated with injuries

That Nicka wrote:Fisher 11/Critt 8/Sasha 4
Kobe 32/Evans 6
Luke 11/Radman 9
Odom 16/Turiaf 6/Cook 6
Bynum 13/Kwame 8/Mihm 6

Other predictions I had were:

The Heat making the playoffs
The Celtics winning the conference (I believe I had them down for 58 wins and winning the championship)

Cant remember much else

simmer down now, It wasnt meant to poke fun at anyone in particular... I just found it funny how completely off some people were in their predictions... Yours obviously stuck out to me, with me being a Laker fan and many Laker fans felt even before the season started that they were capable of winning 50... His stuck out because he gave basically no reasoning for his prediction AND Orlando ended up winning the division quite easily

RIGHT: Phoenix still can't beat San Antonio.
WRONG: Bulls and Nets will make the playoffs.
