Captain Jack's trade value

Post#1 » by breaker91 » Mon May 12, 2008 8:19 pm

Hey Blazer fan here. I've been dreaming up a trade scenario involving Stephen Jackson, but I don't have a sense of what type of return Warriors' fans would be expecting in a trade involving him.

What types of player or players (e.g. position, skill set, contract) would you be looking for?

Any Blazers outside of Roy, LMA and Oden of particular interest?

Would you want in return change if Baron moves on to another team? For example, would you want to ship him out and emphasis a youth movement.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

If Baron is traded I want Jack to stay... if he isn't I really wouldnt want to deal Jax in the conference, but if I had to, I'd try and get a the pick from POR + EC's for Jack..

Its a rough deal to try... Jack's value to us is so much more than it would be to any other team trading for him right now. While he did chuck himself into a deep hole, hes still responsible for bringing the team together earlier... when you surround Jax with talent, he plays the game well, so if we can get some more talent around him, I'd love to keep him around.

I'd consider doing a Jackson for Outlaw and Jack or Outlaw and Rodriguez.

 on both of those two trade offers. I might prefer Rodriguez though. Will have him longer without playing the salary game for awhile.

Probably Outlaw-pick and salary fill would do it. Pryzbillza ? On a running team? I'd rather play Kosta more and not spend Jax or Pryz's salary.

Outlaw and Jack would be rotation guys-but not starters. They can be useful-but are not enough. I'm a bit less of a Jax fan than average-yet he's a 20 a game guy and plays very good D and passes. Such a package is not easy to replace. Further----the Blazers are a future threat to us even making the playoffs. They get a major boost--we get whoever they consider expendable? No can do.

Stack Jack for Pryzbilla, Rights to Rudy Fernandez, 33rd pick

i usually could care less about sending a guy to someone in the same conference.. in fact, i still don't really care... but stack jack is the one guy that made me think about it for a second.

Travis Outlaw is a stud...Portland spent years developing him. Hes not going anywhere. Plus dude has i think 2 more years at a dirt cheap price.

the original post didn't ask anyone if we thought jack was staying or not, he simply asked what we would want for Jack. So come up with a better offer, or stop bitching about making fake trades when thats exactly what was asked by a Blazers fan.
