Game Quotes!!

"Why should we be desperate? Why should we be down?" Howard asked in response to questions. "We've been down before, and we always came back. We know how to play. And if we play the right way, we're coming back here [to play]."We know history, but that doesn't matter to us," Howard said. "The Houston Rockets did it [in 1995 against Phoenix] and won a championship. It's not going to happen unless we believe, and we believe it.""We need a great game from everyone, not just me," he said. "There will be nights when I don't score a lot of points, but I still have to dominate the glass, block shots, play my role. We just have to step it up, play every game like it's our last."

"I heard a lot of people say I guaranteed a win," Nelson said. "What am I supposed to do, guarantee a loss? We've got to win this game. And I'm confident that we can do that. I'm not saying it because I have to. I'm saying it because I believe we will."

"The [Magic] know they've got nowhere else to go," said Detroit Coach Flip Saunders. "So they'll be putting everything into this game. We have to have the mind-set of setting the tone early and just grinding it out."

Owner Rich DeVos told me before Game 4, "We're going to win today, win in Detroit and come back and win here."

Detroit Pistons point guard Chauncey Billups apparently is feeling better, but he wasn't declared fit to play in Game 5 tonight against the Orlando Magic in Auburn Hills, Mich. Billups, who strained his right hamstring Wednesday in Game 3 in Orlando, sat out Game 4 on Saturday.

P.S. This is my first game thread

Well done, good sir.

If you're going to lose, go out with effort and dignity.

Or at least start a brawl.

Last game of the season. Detroit by 6.

Reverse psychology.

But honestly, I believe this is our last game of the season. I just want the guys to give a great effort and prove they can hang around with these chumps. I will not be watching tonight's game, no joke, my body can't take a mental breakdown. At the end of the night I'll be watching ESPN for the score, hopefully in our favor.

I still don't understand. When did Nelson use the word "guranteed" in any of his statements?

Because if he did, then nevermind.

A whole season is looking close to its end but with Meer comments I feel like our team will play with a chip on their shoulders and demonstrate that we can win on the road as well. Let's get the party started, there might be not much left!!!

Starting for the Detroit Pistons:

At Point Guard, from Eastern Washington, #3, Rodney Stuckey,
at Shooting Guard, from Connecticut, #32, Richard Hamilton,
at Small Forward, from Kentucky, #22, Tayshaun Prince,
at Power Forward, from North Carolina, #36, Rasheed Wallace,
and at Center, from Cincinnati, #54, Jason Maxiell.

hopefully, the magic will wear their big boy balls tonight.

no more 3 rebound halfs for our starting forwards.
no more going 3 quarters without making a damn field goal for our starting center.

and for chrissake, no more splitting free throws when the score's close.

My 10 keys for the game:

1 - Mr 1st Team plays all 4 quarters with the tenacity he starts the game with.
2 - Mr. 4 Quarter makes an effective showing earlier in the game.
3 - $hard is aggressive all night long, taking Shed of the dribble more often.
4 - Ball movement.
5 - Ball movement.
6 - Ball movement.
7 - Ball movement.
8 - Ball movement.
9 - Ball movement.
10 - Ball movement.
