I know the starters play a lot more but the bottomline is overall the Bench has been fine. It's the starters that are the problem. KG, Pierce, Ray Allen are simply getting out played in this series.

Everyone is eager to blame Doc Rivers but if the starters play like this it doesn't matter who the coach is of the Celtics. Once again, the Big 3 need to step up.

By the way, anyone notice who is 2nd in +/- stats. Everyone is eager to blame Cassell and Rivers but I believe the blame is misguided.

So wait, your saying the reason the C's are losing isn't the play of their backup PG? Because looking at this board, I could have sworn the Celts lost because Doc played Sam Cassell for 14 minutes, and if Eddie House was still playing the series would be over.

In all seriousness, thanks for posting these stats. I think they hint at the greater problem, and it has nothing to do with Sam Cassell, Doc Rivers, or anything related to the word 'rotations.'

People don't want to accept the fact that their "Heros" are simply not getting the job done.

I love Pierce, KG & Ray Allen just like everyone else but the fact is they are simply getting badly outplayed.

Even worse for Celtic fans is the Big 3 are in denial right now.

This is what stunned me last night. Why on earth did PJ and Big Baby log serious minutes last night? Hell, Powe should have spelled Perk for long stretches, as Perk was putrid last night, too.

PJ has played very well!

PJ played well last night, yes, but he is still slooooooooooow...
I like seeing PJ in there more than Sam, though....but we need....more...POWE!

Obviously +/- doesn't tell the whole story, but PP's number of -40 (far lower than any other Celtic) is still very telling.

Especially when KG and Ray, our other two "stars," are so close to even. I know PP is matched up against LeBron, but -40 is pretty horrible still.

Small sample size, plus PP is overmatvhed versus Lebron. Thats why his + / - is so poor. Its the Cavs starters that are having their way with us and our gameplan, not our starters who are killing us

I missed most of the first half yesterday, but even just following the game online, and could Doc hadn't changed things up since game 3. Even though our starters were keeping the game close, I knew then we would likely lose

I also feel compelled to point out that, thus far in the playoffs, when Tony Allen plays he might get criticized here, but our opponent scores 13 fewer pts per 100 possessions, shoots 5.3% worse (eFG%), and not only that - we turn the ball over two fewer times and score an extra 7 points from the line. No exaggeration
