Orlando and officiating...
I know that I have complained about officiating on several occasions this post season, but only one time did it affect the outcome of the game, and that was Game 2 of the Magic-Pistons series, when a blown call on a stalled clock, along with multiple questionable calls, helped the Pistons down Orlando. During Game 4, Orlando was in a perfect position to tie the series against Detroit and steal some momentum, but the experienced Pistons were able to overcome Orlando, who looked lackluster at times in the final half. I closed my mouth and said nothing about officiating, because I didn

way too long dude.
I agree with the bad calls. We must face it. Its like being in prison. you must earn your calls by paying your dues in this league. We are only the small market Magics while Pistons are big. Dwight is only 22 while the Pistons organization is older than that.
As I hate to see it this way we must simply accept it and not let the refs decide our wins. Last plays are most likely not going to be called unless it is a 100% evident and harsh fould so we should have been ready for it.

If it's a foul - it needs to be called no matter when it happends. There is no rule that says if the player is lightly fouled on a game deciding play the refs should close their eyes.
Also, one ref called a foul by raising his hand up but then he just walked off the court like he never called it. If you made a call you need to stand by it. That clown should be disciplined together with Steve Javie or whatever his last name is.
Pistons - Magic 1-1
Refs/Pistons - Magic 2-0
I never ever complained about refs until this series.

To be honest, I was more pissed about the calls during the Toronto series because I understand that the established teams can get away with a lot more, especially the Pistons whose trademark is physical play. I'm sure during the "Stackhouse era" when the Pistons weren't that good they didn't get many calls, but now they are known for their defense. The Magic's 3 point shooting might actually hurt Orlando because the refs assume they can't get to the hoop legitimately and don't call the foul.
However, you can't blame the refs on whether you won or lost a game, the only way you could do that is if you had a game where you were perfect at the line, had no turnovers, and made every shot and somehow still lost because someone flopped. Bad calls are a part of the game, unfortunately some games are called better than others, but you have to get over it. I think every team has had a badly officiated game at some point and I agree that these refs miss a lot of calls or make stupid calls, but it's at a disadvantage to everyone.

Excellent post, I have never been as dissapointed in the NBA as I am this season. I think we've been screwed over on multiple occasions this season. No respect whatsoever. I agree we have screwed up some in this series also but you just can't deny the refs having a big part in it at crucial possesions. Three games this postseason the referees have screwed up big time, game2 vs Toronto and game 2/4 in this series.
Nobody need to tell me otherwise, my mind is made up this could've been an entire different series if it wasn't for the refs. SO F THAT..
Hope we can pull another one out tonight and have at least one more game..

I agree that there have been horrible calls, but it's not like this is the first series in NBA history where a team has been on the wrong end of a lot of calls. It sucks, but all you can do is play that much harder the next game. The Magic bounced back after the Game 2 shot clock malfunction as an example.
The Kings and Blazers were screwed when they played the Lakers in some series by the refs, but at least the Kings kept making the playoffs year after year and garnered respect by the refs, so just get through this years playoffs, and as long as we keep improving and make the playoffs, the calls should get better.
