b-ball forever, I don't disagree with you that we had more of a chance with the old team because of the years they've been together, but still, the outcome would be the same, IMO. I do realize that, at the very least, we would still have Shawn as our trading bait...but what's done is done, at least we got rid of Banks so financially, or for Robert $arver, it's a slam dunk deal.

Can't argue with the result...and you know I too hate the deal, but Shaq has given us everything we'd expected from him. Let's hope he can stay in shape, if not, we're doomed.

I think we all need therapy, because truth is I think we agree on 90pct of how things went down.
I am not negative on Shaq, I was personally willing to try anything. However if I knew it was going to cost Mike his job I wouldve recinded my feelings about being happy with the trade.

This team was too full of itself. Every year it was always **** about outside forces conspiring. It came from the coach on down tot he players. Dantoni preached the mantra of "Its not our fault" and "We just didnt have it tonight" over and over for every loss in the playoffs and during meaningful regular season games. Hell, they could have had a totally different opening round opponent if they didnt blow a double digit lead to Dallas in the fourth quarter during the last few games. Maybe even had home court advantage. So then they get matched up against the Spurs. What was the attitude from Coach D? Nonchalant with an air of 'were so much better then they are'. "Were so ready for them". So what does Pop do? Exploit every weakness to its fullest. What does Dantoni do? Well you saw the results.

For those who dont think a coach and his attitudes/decisions about his team can totally get them over the hump look at Detroit. Havent gotten back to the Finals since Larry Brown left. Even with all their talent in a weak eastern conference. At least Saunders has developed a bench and young players which actually might get them back to the Finals this year.

The Suns are done. The Suns could never put themselves in a position like the Hornets. Every year home court advantage or not you knew the Suns were gonna lose to a more disciplined team in the Spurs. Dantoni wouldnt start Chandler against Duncan. Cause his thing was to have the 5 best offensive players playing the most minutes even though there was only one ball that had to be either rebounded or defended against on the other end.

Suns wasted 4 years of prime talent and now the window has closed without them ever figuring out how to take advantage of all they had.

Why would a team go up against another team and change what's been working for them the whole season through? Why would the Suns play the Spurs game when it's obvious that the Spurs do that game better?

You give yourself the best shot of winning by doing what YOU do best.

Mike's list of things to do next Suns season (found in trashcan)
1. Make game fun again for Nash
2. Agree with Shaq he's making Amare the best player ever witnessed
3. Cut down Hill's playing time by a minute fifteen
4. Give Bell an extra minute fifteen
5. Sacrifice cow to gods of basketball since sacrifice of chicken after last season didnt keep the gods from once again holding the Suns down.
6. Get to know names and hobbies of other guys hanging around practice and games.
7. Dont worry
8. Be happy

Not just a minute 15, he sure as hell better be playing under 30 MPG during the ENTIRE REGULAR SEASON next year. Give DJ, and maybe LJ or Tucker some burn and rest the old man.

I said it plenty of times in the early season that we needed to cut down old guys Hill/Raja/Nash's playtime in the reg season, else it was gonna come back and bite us in the butts, and that's EXACTLY what happened when Grant Hill got injured just in time for the playoffs!

That was the 1 and only thing I didn't like bout DA, his rotation management.

There's a reason the Spurs keep down their old guys (and Manu, who is injury prone) minutes playtime down in the reg season.

4. Give Bell an extra minute fifteen
