Without the Kwame trade

PG-Fisher
SG-Kobe
SF-Caron Butler
PF-Odom
C-Bynum

or the current team healthy

PG-Fisher
SG-Kobe
SF-Odom
PF-Gasol
C-Bynum.

Gasol or Butler?

Gasol fits better and allows Odom to play SF, where he is more effective, even though Butler is slightly better overall.

Except Odom is far more effective at PF, which as far as I see it, is the whole premise of this question. Gasol is the better player than Butler, but Odom is playing out-of-position at SF with Gasol and Bynum.

I think the first team is more balanced. The spacing would be better and I think they would be better defensively.

I'd take Gasol over Butler

I'd take Gasol.

Gasol. He is perfect fit for triangle.

First team is better because the second team has no shooters except for Fisher.

Spacing would be disastrous.

Kobe and Caron almost play identical games so I don't think they can co-exist together.

Gasol fits that system like a train in a tunnel. He is a terrific passer, has shot blocking skills, and has great skill on the offensive end. I think the Lakers organization in the end would go with Gasol to play with Kobe.
