Was LeBron's defense this year All-NBA worthy? I've heard some posters say it wasn't so I made this thread for discussion

I think he was just a tad on the outside looking on... maybe 2nd team. He was still pretty great this year.

I'd say it was above-average but not All-NBA-worthy.

His defense at its best is all-NBA worthy but he doesnt bring maximum intensity quite often enough. On that same token Kobe doesn't always bring max-level intensity to his defense but he is perennially all-NBA defense.

So you believe Kobe played better defense than LeBron this year?

I agree, 2nd team seems right.

At times he played first team quality defense, but overall he was borderline 2nd team. He wasn't a snub, but if he had made it it wouldn't have been a joke either.

Kobe hasn't played good defense in about 3 years now, since his safety net in the zone named Shaq left town Kobe has left more and more to be desired from his defensive game(Although I understand he had to take the flack from the offensive end, with Bynums development at the beginning of the season and teh pick up of Gasol I thought he would return back to all nba defensive form).

Last year i would've agreed with you. But this year, before Bynum went down, he as playing as the DPOY. When he had to pick up more of the scoring load in the second half of they year is when his defense dropped, but it was still worthy of first team honors.

Here we go..... :noway:. Lets leave Kobe out of this. Lebron played good D but not good enough to crack 1st team.

Not even 2nd team worthy if you ask me. He still does well at defending and he's only going to improve. He may possibly make the 2nd team next season if some of his new teammates can provide him with some help next season (82 games together).

I could definitely have seen LeBron make 2nd team this year but it's tough for anyone that expends as much energy on offense to bring it on defense for an entire game. LeBrons 4th quarter defense was fabulous though.

+1

if lebron locks it in the defensive end, he is a pretty good defender but the cavs need his offense more than his defense so he is not locked in all the time on the defensive end
