Best 3rd option remaining in the playoffs

Post#1 » by RelativeZdot » Thu May 15, 2008 12:18 am

Ray Allen
Szerbiak
Okur
Odom
Rasheed/Prince
Ginobli/Parker
Peja

With there not currently being a dominant two-some there are mostly very good big 3's and more balanced teams in the league. IMO the lakers have the best third option at the moment in Odom and that will propel them to the title. This isnt a super duo league anymore so over the next few years I expect this trend to continue of good teams being fueled by great third options.

I think Manu or parker is best out of those.

I'd say Manu/Parker, Prince/Sheed is second and definitely the 4th best option.

Odom is playing at an incredibly high level right now. He is a better rebounder than either of those two, at least as good of a playmaker, and with the confidence he is playing with right now, a comparable scorer.

Parker or Manu. Pick one.

Manu I consider the 3rd option because while he has been starting lately he still comes off the bench sometimes and usually Parker or Duncan take the majority of the shots.

So to me it goes Manu, then Odom then Tayshaun since Sheed can be a number 1 or 2 option

Odom is having a solid 2nd round: 18.5 ppg (58%FG), 12.5 rebs, 2 asts, 2 blk, 44 mpg

If we can just switch guys around like that, then I think Pau Gasol takes the cake.

No,I just think a lot of people rate them differently. IMO, whichever you think is the 3rd option is the best one left....

Yes Pau would but Odom regardless has been the Best third option. his numbers have been unbelievable but his impact on the game has been even bigger. His great leadership and enthusiasm have put the Lakers on that next level.

Yeah it's sometimes hard to distinguish who the 3rd or 2nd option is between Parker and Ginobili. I think it depends on the team they're playing against, like how Tony Parker was more of like the first option against the Suns.

I don't think it matters who it is whether its manu or Parker they are both better 3rd option than anyone listed.

He certainly should be, he is like 6'10.

And No, he is not as good of a playmaker than Parker (who might be one of the top playmakers right now, after Paul). And Ginobli is better at playmaking that Odom too.

Ginobili is the 3rd option..he had to take a bigger role in the regular season due to injuries, but he's back to being the 3rd option for the playoffs..although with the Spurs, it does change from series to series..so far, Ginobili has been the #3 option in both series though..
