OT:Refs give game to Lakers....
2 HUGE push offs by Gasol for Offensive rebounds(and put-backs) to seal the win for the Lakers...Gutless Refs once again.....wasn't bad enough Gasol was gift-wrapped to the Lakers---they gotta give him all the calls too.

I left the bar around the beginning of the 4th saying the refs won't let Utah run and get a lead. They just kept piling on the FTs. It's a joke watching Boozer getting thrown to the ground for no call, and in the same exact sequence see Odom put his head down and dive into the paint with no regard for the basket and get to the line.

The 2nd one looked like a flop, it just looked like the ball went in the opposite direction of where Okur was moving to and when that happened he flailed Ginobili style because he knew he didnt have a shot to get the rebound.
The first one looked obvious, he had position at the FT line on Gasol on the long 3, and it definately looked like Gasol pushed off because that one was at least in reach.

the Overhead replay clearly showed Gasol push of on the 2nd one....they only showed that replay during the opening of the post game show--of course it was in real time, not slow motion---and NOBODY in the studio even mentioned it.

Sometimes it really does feel like the NBA is no better than professional wrestling at times. The flops, the crooked refs, the NBA turning a blind eye towards it all.
I say we have the computing technology. Why not have cameras monitor all the action on the floor and a program can analyze what's a foul and what's not? It could even analyze the strength of contact based on the body size and weight of the players combined with the quickness of motion both on the floor and of their appendages.
But then the mob would probably just hack the foul detection computer.

You know,
last year I thought the officiating in the playoffs was better than I can ever remember it in recent years.
My theory is David Stern knew about the Tim Donaghy investigation and was worried about inevitable fallout - therefore for once he cared about making sure the officiating was respectable enough.
Its really pretty sad.

I loved the one where KG and Perk went up to try to block LeBron's layup, which they did, and Perk's hand grazed (barely) the left side of LeBron's head /temple and LeBron spent the entire C's possession under the hoop holding his RIGHT eye and faking an eye-poke. They showed the slo-mo replay and again this was confirmed.
If you're gonna fake, hold on to the correct side, dude!
