Is LeBron tough?

Post#1 » by TMU » Thu May 15, 2008 6:54 am

Based on what we saw in the playoffs:

1. He whined about the Wizards' fouls and said they were trying to hurt him.
2. Mama James tried to fight KG upon a hard foul in Game 4.

Yay or nay?

you also have to throw in the injured finger where he missed 6(?) games..

I'm a Lebron James fan, but I wouldn't rank him among the toughest players in the NBA or anything..I definitely wouldn't call him a pussy, and he can definitely play through contact(as he shows every game), but he does seem to be very over-protective of himself..

Ah thanks for the edit... that term could have been offensive towards others.

If People call Dirk soft, then Lebron has to be even softer.

Not that I think either one is soft.

Lebron is arrogant, soft, greedy, cannot hit a jumper and curses his mother...

Lebron isnt soft, hes smart. Like Jordan, the guy is a bussiness man and knows that his body is an investment worth billions. Hell yes he should be protective of himself, he has alot more to lose than any of the guys fouling him.

1. Other players whine about calls, too! -- Kobe, Wade, Arenas etc.

2. Moms are overprotective. So be it.

I don't get your points.

He's definitely not the toughest guy but not soft either. You don't drive to the rim that often if you're "soft"

Yeah he's so soft that all he thinks is attacking the basket.

BS thread.

Sure, he complains a lot, but he's just bartering for superstar treatment. LeBron takes more abuse than most guys in the league. He constantly drives to the basket and opponents constantly try to make him stop doing so by creating contact.

If Lebron isn't tough then no one in the league is.

How many games has Lebron missed in the playoffs?
Do you actually think Cleveland management is gonna let him play hurt and risk aggravating an injury when the guy is still so young? They're not gonna possibly **** up their future unless they're on the verge of winning a championship.

um, wtf? you clearly don't know what your talking about.

I would never consider a player who misses 6 games with an injury to his finger on his off hand tough, so no Lebron is not tough.

I don't think he is that tough. I hate that checking his lip for blood thing every time someone touches him.

What an asinine thread. If he was on your team you'd hail him a freaking gladiator and you know it, so stop hating out of jealous spite.

Just watch him play every night and you will see how tough he is. I know the whining to the refs gets annoying, but many players do it, and it's one way to get respect. At times, like Jordan, Lebron gets too much respect from the refs, but I don't see how anyone can question his toughness. More players need to be like Lebron and drive inside!

I like how so many morons define tough as "not complaining about fouls."

Uh, working the refs is part of the game. Jordan complained to the refs all the time.

Oh, and also missing a few regular season games to let an injury heal instead of having a seaosn-long lingering injury affect your play doesnt mean "not tough," it means smart.

LeBron is carrying a franchise and a city on his back, he's playing under huge pressure every night, He never had a major injury in his pro career, he missed only 19 games, almost every summer he played for USA National team, he never missed a playoff game and he's doing these things since he's 18. What a softie. Not to mention his game is based on attacking the basket and getting contacts from bigger guys.
